His silence

Farkle held his head in his hands. His parents were shouting at each other again. It had been like this for a few weeks now, getting worse and worse with each passing day. Tonight was the worst. He never even knew what they were arguing about most of the time because there was almost always nothing to argue about, he'd had enough of it.

He sighed, diverting his attention to two raindrops racing to the bottom of his bedroom window.

He wished he could stir up the courage to tell his friends about his parent's screaming matches but he knew they all had their own problems.

He couldn't bring himself to tell Riley because she'd probably cry immediately and he'd feel worse, he didn't want to tell Maya because she was already busy worrying about how her and her mom would pay the bill next month as well as patch up her roof and he wouldn't put it past Lucas to go back to crazy Texas Lucas on him for not telling him sooner.

It was more serious this time, his parents had always been calm and sorted their problems before they went to bed but it was 11 o'clock and they were still screaming at each other. He couldn't see it getting any better.

Sometimes he wished he could have Corey and Topanga for parents instead since they didn't shout at each other, and even if they did then they'd never let anyone see or hear them do it. He started to respect Maya more for still looking happy despite not having her dad there.

He snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the front door being slammed shut followed by his mom screaming and ending with a tired sigh. Creeping out to where his mom was, he found her curled in a heap on the floor silently crying. Farkle walked to her side, sliding down the wall to where she was sitting.

"He left. He really left this time." Farkle paused before placing a hand on his mom's shoulder as she slowed her tears and nodded.

"I'm sorry, honey. You should've never had to see this."

"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry you had to go through it."

"He says he's going on a business trip, he won't be home for three weeks." she turned, waiting for Farkles reaction. It meant that his dad would miss Farkles 17th birthday.

"O-oh. Okay. That's fine." He said, standing up trying to think of a way to not be angry at his dad. He maintained his normal facial expression, adding a small smile to comfort his mom, "That's okay, I'm sure he'll remember."

In bed, Farkle tried to think of a reasonable explanation for what had happened and how to fix it. He came up with nothing.

Heyo,

I hope you liked it, if not then I'd say it gets better but I don't really have much faith in myself so enjoy anyways.

Thanks!
