Belle's POV

Y/n has had her friends over for hours on top of their already long sleepover. I had to get out of the house. I grabbed the keys to the car and ran out the door yelling to my mom that I was going out.

I drove mindlessly around checking out the layout of the town and looking for anything that seemed to be of interest. Gosh this town barely has anything. I drove around to the neighborhoods on the outskirts of the town and slowed down looking at the houses but something caught my attention. A beautiful navy blue '79 Camaro parked in front of a rundown house.

Wow, what I'd do to drive one...

My thoughts were cut short when the door to the house opened and out walked an athletic-built teenage guy with quite the hair and a whole lot of denim. Denim on denim...really? You could do so much more with less. He put his shades on and lit a cigarette as he strolled to the Camaro.

Shit he's definitely seen me. I realized I was stopped alongside his car as he looked my way and smirked at me.

I gathered my confidence, leaned towards the open window and said, "Nice car, denim boy" with a smirk before I drove away.

I was about to turn into the parking lot of the grocery store when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the Camaro riding my bumper. Might as well mess around with him, he seems cocky and I can tell neither of us want to ruin our car.

I was driving our family's 1965 Chevy Impala

I was driving our family's 1965 Chevy Impala. It's my little secret that under the fashion and class I'm definitely a car enthusiast so I couldn't have been happier the day we got the Impala but no one needs to know that.

Instead of turning into the lot, I sped up and reached the edge of town. He was still tailing me so I slowed to turn onto the peaceful highway out of town and floored it. The highway has greenery lining it's edges and the surrounding trees reached high, almost making the highway seem like it was engulfed in a tunnel made from the treetops. The road was smooth with no cars in sight and ever so slightly curved making it a great "top-down, music-loud kind of road".

I cranked up the radio as the song Jukebox Hero by Foreigner queued up and sped up even more. I looked to my left and the Camaro crept up side by side with its windows down and its driver looking at me with a devilish grin. I matched his expression and sped up more. We raced alongside one another and I raised my eyebrow to challenge him. He accepted and raced in front of me but not too closely to avoid cutting me off completely. Well at least he's considerate when showing off, I guess?

The guy's brake lights flash twice and then he steadily starts to slow down. I follow his lead and slow down but not quick enough as I pass an idle cop car now going 65 in a 55. Shit!

The lights and siren show begin and I pull off into the shoulder watching the Camaro cruise off ahead. I see a hand raise out the window as if he's signaling goodbye.

Scratch the considerate part, he's an asshole.

The officer does his spiel and lets me go after he's given me a lecture and a small speeding ticket. At least I wasn't going as fast as I was earlier or I'd get the next bracket for the fine amount. The cop drives off and I start to turn around but not before the Camaro pulls into the shoulder in front of me.

I'm face to face with the considerate asshole and I look at him unamused. He frowns at my response and I turn around and head back to town. He's still following me...why?

I turn into the parking lot of a small cafe in town and get out. Big surprise, he's parked next to me. Without waiting for him I walk into the cafe and sit in a booth away from the door. The bell rings indicating someone's entered and sure enough I find myself watching the strange guy slip into the booth across from me.

The waitress comes over and flushes at the sight of the guy across from me.

"What can I get you?" she asks with a gushing smile as she faces the guy but he gestures at me to order first. She's caught off guard and turns her attention to me with much less of a cheery face. I'm definitely making some good impressions with people my age...yay.

"I'll have a vanilla milkshake"

"Whipped cream and cherry ok?" she retorts.

"No cherry."

"And what can I get for the gentleman?" she cheerfully asks with a smirk.

"Chocolate milkshake with everything. Thanks love" he responds in a smooth, deep voice I wasn't really expecting.

Apparently the waitress wasn't expecting the voice...and the nickname. I thought she was gonna faint on the spot from being so swept off her feet but instead she turned beet red, smiled, and walked away with a pep in her step.

I scoffed at her reaction and looked back at the stranger. Well isn't he just the full package, considerate asshole of a player.

"I tried to warn you about the cop but someone was trying to show off I guess" he smirked.

"If I was trying to show off for you, that wouldn't be my first move." I say with a flirty tone as my anger fades from the ticket incident.

He raises an eyebrow and replies with a smirk, "Hm, I'm not sure I understand maybe I'll just have to hold you accountable to show me what you mean in the future."

The waitress drops off our milkshakes interrupting our conversation but gets the clue to leave when all we say is thank you; despite her trying to hover by our booth. She rolls her eyes and walks away.

"I wouldn't have pegged you for a vanilla type of girl" he adds as we drink our shakes.

"I'm full of surprises"

"I don't know if I'd go that far"

"What's that supposed to mean?" I snap back.

"Hm let's see, city girl trapped in a small town that suffocates her sense of freedom so she likes to take matters into her own hands. People see her as a confident, adventurous girl living vicariously through her appearance and fun-loving attitude but inside she's just as lost as the rest of us." he paused, "sound about right?"

"Well I see a guy, one whose private life is in shambles, so much so it fuels his drive to create a pleasure centered public life. He splurges on his appearance, his car, his confidence even to reel in the attention of anyone and everyone close by just to get the satisfaction of having some control over his life." I pause and mimic him, "sound about right?"

"Touché, miss..." he pauses asking for my name with a grin.

"Belle, Belle y/l/n."

"Pleasure, Belle"

"Pleasure is all mine..." I pause hoping to get his name.

"Denim boy." he smirks, leaves $5 on the table, and leaves the cafe. He also leaves me in shock, no guy has ever caught me off guard like that.

I slump back into the booth dumbfounded and laugh at what just happened as I finish off my milkshake and head home.

A/N: This was fun to write! Maybe we'll have to get more Billy x Belle action...
