You're a 13 year old girl about to embark on a fresh start in a new town- Hawkins, Indiana. You'll make friends with a group that you'd never expect but life has brought you here due to difficult circumstances. How will the group react to your strug...
I gently pulled away from the hug and wiped the tears that had begun to drop down my cheeks. I tried my best to get the looming thought of surgery out of my head and painted a smile on my face. Do it for Dustin, show him the carefree, happy side of you. It was hard though, I felt as if I couldn't remember that side of myself with all this stress.
"Hey, chin up. I know I've just met you but if you need anything at all let me know, okay?"
I smiled and nodded at his sweet remark. I hope that I haven't scared him away with all my problems and crying.
"Hey, why don't I introduce you to my best friends? I know they'll love to meet you!"
"Oh, I don't know Dustin-"
"It'll get your mind off of things and I'll feel better knowing you didn't waste this beautiful day away!"
"Alright. Just give me 20 and I'll meet you outside."
He smiled and practically ran out of my house.
"Let's see what to wear...Belle can you help me? It's clothes related!"
I turned around and Belle was already there holding up a pair of mom jeans.
"Oh wow...you're already here?"
"You do not know how long I've waited for this moment to come" she squealed as I laughed at her excitement.

Dustin's POV
Exactly 20 minutes later I glanced up at the sound of a door closing. My eyes skimmed over y/n's outfit and eventually met with y/n's eyes. Woah she looks pretty...pretty good. Oh great, the last person I want to turn into is Mike but I guess I'm already halfway there... I pushed the thought away and grinned my signature toothless smile.

(What I imagine being worn, I feel like I would honestly wear something like this ha)
As she walked over I noticed she looked happier and more confident and I wondered if it was because she felt more secure with her brace hidden underneath a loose t-shirt or if it was because of something else. I would have never even guess it was there if I didn't know about it.
"Hop on and we'll head over to the guys. I've already told them to meet us there."
Y/n's POV
I felt a little uneasy riding behind Dustin on his bike. Not because it was awkward or anything, but because I didn't want my brace to hurt him somehow. After all it isn't the greatest thing to be bumped with since it's so solid. But soon enough I was off the bike and standing at the front step of a house. Now the worry of his friends not liking me is what settled in.
Dustin knocked on the door and I leaned over and quietly whispered, "Who's house is this again?"
"Oh sorry I forgot to tell you. This is Mike's house."
"Ahh."
Seconds later I heard the door swing open and saw three boys eagerly peering out at us with cheesy smiles upon their faces. I thought they were directing them towards me but I confirmed that they were for Dustin as I saw him glaring at the boys.
"Oookkaaay then."
A/N: Should have at least one more chapter out today.
