Chapter 18: Explain

Y/n's POV

I watched Mike flinch as I said the name. He stared at me with pain in his eyes, his lip slightly quivering.

"How do you know about her?"

"I met her in my vision."

"W- wa- was she ok?"

"Yes, she seemed ok to me. She was-" I paused, "she was actually more concerned about you."

"Really? What'd you say?" Mike spoke and his eyes seemed to lighten from their dark trance.

"I told her that you seemed a bit upset but you were handling yourself. After I said that she started to tear up so, she left me to ask you guys to explain stuff."

I looked back at Mike and saw him smile with relief for a second and his eyes watered up a bit. This was the first I had seen any emotion from him. I bet he was relieved that Eleven was ok.

I wish I knew what happened between the two, but from what I've seen they shared a mutual emotion of longing for the other.

"So what did El tell you to ask us?" Lucas piped up to draw attention away from Mike. That's sweet of him.

"The main things were the Upside Down, the Demogorgon, and about how she fit into the whole situation." I said with confusion hinting at the edge of my voice. El didn't tell me to ask about her but I need to know what happened.

"Ok well, that pretty much covers everything that's crazy in this town." Lucas sighed searching the faces of the other guys.

"Well, it wouldn't hurt to explain everything since y/n obviously has a connection to it all. Or else she wouldn't have known what to ask us about." Mike said from the far edge of my window seat.

The boys looked at him with a bit of shock.

"Finally warming up to y/n are we now, Mike?" Dustin fired back with a smirk.

"Oh shut up, Dusty."

Huh. I smiled at Dustin's nickname. Well, that's cute.

"Hardy, har, Frogface."

The two boys glared playfully at one another.

"Alright," Lucas piped between the arguing duo, "Let's see. It all began this past fall..."
