Inevitable Part 20

He put his phone on silent mode and tossed it in the drawer in anger and went about his day doing everything else except checking his phone.. He knew she would call back before long. He decided he would ignore her for at least few hours, so she knows how it feels... He did not even go near the drawer so that his resolve doesn't waver. He waited till evening before he picked up his phone. He was expecting at least a few messages and missed calls from Sana. He couldn't wait to read her messages and call her back. He decided he will give her his peace of mind for all this stupid arguments since yesterday but say sorry and make it up with her soon..

However, that resolve didn't last long as he got the shock of his life when there wasn't a single message or missed call from her.. Its been hours since he hung up on her, and it has never happened that she did not call back.. She always called back.. He got angrier and almost dialed her number ready to take out all his fury on her. But better sense prevailed, and he cut it in time before it connected. He knew if he talked to her now he would only shout at her and say things he shouldn't say, and it will only worsen the things between them. He switched off his phone deciding to call her tomorrow morning when he was a bit calmer.

Sana was drained from all that happened since yesterday. She could hardly sleep the night before her first show.. and then last night was all chaos too..

After she disconnected the call she just laid on the bed, and before she could realize the physical and moreover the mental exhaustion took over her and she fell asleep..

She woke up with a startle a few hours later.. She quickly checked her phone hoping to see at least one missed call.. but somewhere she knew he hardly ever called unless she calls. Only exception is when it's his bedtime. He always calls her once before going to bed if they are away or when she is in her flat, checking in on her one last time before going to sleep.. There was no missed call so far..

"ya mein hi kar letti hun abhi call.. ye to karega hi ni.. Yaar ye kaisa hai.. itna kyu gussa karta hai hamesha.. is baari to galti bhi ni thi meri koi.. khud apni ex ke saath kaam kar raha hai aur chidh mujh pe raha hai.. yahi mein karti to???"

She picked her phone chewing her nails...

"kyu har baari mein hi karu.. is baar wohi karega call.. wait karti hu atleast uske sone k time tak.. tab pakka karega call "

She waited anxiously till it was 10 PM in India, but he never called.. She gave up and finally decided to call back herself as usual, only to hear a switched off tone.. Tears streamed down her face and sleep evaded her for the 3rd night in a row..

He had a restless night too.. he woke up much later than he should have next morning.. He switched on his phone thinking of last night and Sana and was delighted to finally see her messages.

"Phone kyu switch off hai tera? abhi bhi guss hai? Kitna gussa karega? Uthte hi call kar please?? "

There were couple more similar ones asking to call back as soon as he woke up..

He couldn't help but smile.. The last message was just minutes ago..

'flight mein baith rahi hu Canberra ke liye.. phone switch off aa sakta hai.. please fir se gussa mat hona.. utarke sidhe call karti hun.. tab tak please uth jana Sidharth.. aur phone Utha lena.. I miss you :( '

He tried calling her just in case she still had network, but he got a switched off tone.. she had probably already boarded.. He cursed himself for sleeping in late of all the days today and missing her message by just a few minutes.

Nonetheless he dropped her a message.

'I missed you too sweetheart.. Have a safe flight. Call when you land.. and I might be at shooting by then, phone utha nahi paya to tu bhi dimag mat sadaa lena.. jaise hi time milega call karta hu.. '
