Inevitable Part 35

He made sure she was comfortable in the vanity and went for his next shot.. Every core of his being was pulling him back to go back to her.. but he knew the sooner he finishes this stupid schedule he can take her home and lock themselves down for the next couple of days..

That thought got an extra bounce in his steps.. He went to the set and asked the director to hurry.. everyone was pleasantly surprised to see his uplifted mood after the last couple of days.. No one has yet seen Shehnaaz in his vanity yet .. So they had no idea what caused this..

He felt it took forever to finish the first shot though it had only taken a little over 40 mins, when he ran back to the vanity as soon as the director said cut and declared half an hour to adjust the next set of props..

She was waiting for him, plate filled with the food..

"Jaldi aa yaar.. itni bhuk lagi hai mujhe..." she called him extending her hand towards him..

"Tuze bola tha na bhuk lage to kha lena.. kyu wait kar rahi hai.. "

He made her get up from the sofa from where she was sitting and sat down himself, bringing her back on his lap.. She snickered looping her hands around his neck.. "kuchh jyada hi pyar ni dikha ra tu aaj.. ye sab milne wala hoga to mujhe baar baaar aate jaate rehna chahiye tuzse dur baby " she squeezed his face in her hands making him look like a fish..

"Bhuk lagi hai na? khana kha chupchap.. mera dimag mat kha.. " He did not want to acknowledge he was being way too clingy, nor did he want to stay away from her.. She giggled, and picked up the plate and kept it on her lap feeding him the first bite...

"waise tu sahi bol rahi thi.." he decided to pull her leg a little..

"hmm? Kya??"

"gussa to hona hi chahiye mujhe tuzpe achhe se.. " he said taking the next bite she offered..

"hayye kyun?? kya kiya meine.. ?"

"kya kiya..?? puchh kya nahi kiya.. ek bhi promise nahi chhoda tune jo na toda ho.. "

She looked at him making a puppy face ..

"na tune apna dhyan rakha.. na tu time se hotel gayi.. na tune time se khana khaya.. rona to jaise roj ka quota allot kar liya tha 4-4 ghante ka... bas ek kiya ke wapas aa gayi mere pass.. baki to ek bhi promise nahi rakhha tune... "

"ummm" she hid her face in his neck .. she knew she doesn't have any defense against his accusations.. she had not kept her promises indeed..
"chal chal.. jyada pass mat aa abhi.. aise puppy face bana ke koi asar nahi hoga mujh pe"

"ammaaaa... dekh meine bola tha tu gussa hoga jaise hi teri khushi khatam hogi mere aane ki.. ho gi na teri khushi khatam..? kitna buraa hai tu sidharth.. " she said looking at him, accusing and pleading at the same time..

he had to laugh at that.. she was too cute to resist when she did that.. he could hardly stay angry at her on any other day when she spoke like that, and today of all days he won't be even if he tried too.. He gave in, smirking and biting her cheek to tell her he is not mad at her at all and feeding her the next bite..
She gave him a stink eye rubbing her cheek but smiled quickly looking at his goofy face and the smile that seemed to have reached his eyes after long 2 weeks..

They finished eating and he went to the set again to finish his second shot of the night.

The next time he returned from the shot, the sight put his restless heart at ease like the quiet lake on a windless day. She was lying on the sofa fast asleep her legs bent towards her like a baby.. phone barely hanging in her hand.. as if she fell asleep while still looking at it ... He smiled at the sight, taking her phone out from her hand slowly.. he moved some stray stands of hair from her face, tucking it behind her ears.. he pulled a light blanket over her and sat down near her caressing his hands through her hair like she always did..
