Ch.12

Meliodas POV

Its been a couple days since I spoke to (Y/n) because I was still angry at her. I was sitting at the bar drinking some ale when she came down, I glance at her only to see her staring at me.

She looks like she wants to say something but before she could I directed my eyes somewhere else. She goes to the kitchen to make some breakfast and I continue drinking my ale.

"Are you hungry?" she asked "No" I got up and started walking to the door "Im sorry" I stopped in my tracks not sure if I was ready to accept her apology. "Meli I-" "Goodmorning everyone" Elizabeth came downstairs interrupting her.

I took that as my chance to leave. Others may think that I should forgive her already but I just can't not yet what she did made me think she didn't care what happened to her or how I felt but I guess I should've stopped her.

Y/n POV

"Im sorry did I interrupt something?" Elizabeth asks. I sigh "I really messed up Elizabeth he wont even stay in the same room as me. I tried apologizing several times but he still doesnt forgive me" "maybe apologizing isnt what he wants.." I look at her obviously confused.

"What I mean is maybe hes looking for action not words? Nothing will get better if you can't back up what you say" I look at her and smirk "Someones gotten bold" "N-n-no wait t-t-thats n-ot what I-" her face turned red "Relax im just messing with you. Thank you Elizabeth" "No problem".

I walk out of the tavern remembering what Elizabeth said. 'Actions not words....Actions not words' i repeat to myself. I see meli sitting down on the ground. He glanced at me startling me.

He got up walking towards me only to walk pass me before he could open the tavern door I pulled on his sleeve causing him to stop. "Let go" he said I didnt move. I pulled him towards me teleporting us as far away as I could.

He moved my hands off of him "What are you doing" he asked. "Meli I just want to talk to you you've been so cold to me these past few days and you havent even said I love you or responded when I say it to you" "Is this what you teleported me here for? I didn't know you had such little faith in my love for you. Just because im upset with you doesnt mean I love you any less its sad that you think like that" he said to me.

"We should get back" he started. I clench my fist "No I want to make this right I miss you meli what can I do to make you stop ignoring me" "If you cant figure it out I have nothing to say to you" he said.

I ran up to him and hugged him he didnt hug back "(Y/n)" "Im really sorry I know that saying this wont make what i did better but I really am" he was silent for a little. "Are you saying this because you actually feel guilty for what you did or because you dont like the way im ignoring you" I gasp "Both. I promise I wont be so reckless in the future I promise to listen to you more just please stop avoiding me" I plead.

I was tearing up he put his hands on my waist "How many times have you made that promise and repeatedly broke it?" He removed my hands from his around his neck.

He looked at me caressing my cheek with his hand "It is not my intention to make you cry, but I can not forgive you yet" I put my hand on his and leaned into his touch any contact from him is a blessing right now.

"You...you are my wife and I love you very much but I just need sometime and in the time I hope you try and see things from my point of view" this caused me to break down.

Meliodas POV

My heart(s) were breaking at sight of her crying. "Fine then can you grant me this one request" she asked wiping tears from her eyes. I sigh "What is it" "Please...kiss me" I walk closer to her putting my hands on both sides of her face kissing her for a bit. I felt her pull on my shirt. I pull away from her, her hands still on my shirt.

I sigh again opening my arms "Come here" she jumps into my arms making me fall. She bawls her eyes out I just rub her head until I hear light sobs "No matter how upset I am at you I dont like seeing you cry especially if im the cause, but in no way does this mean im not upset with you" she just sniffs and nods her head.

A few moments pass "(Y/n)?" she didnt answer I look at her to see she fell asleep. Well seems like we're not teleporting back. I pick her up bridal style loving the feeling of her in my arms as i start walking back to the tavern.

I open the door and walk in to see everyone staring at me. I immediately go upstairs a set her down in the bed. I sit down next to her and caress her face studying all her features.

"Meli...dont go" she said in her sleep my eyes widened. I rest my head in my hands "im sorry" i get up and walk downstairs. "Sir meliodas im so happy you and Lady (Y/n) made up" I look at her confused "What are you talking about" "didnt you..." she trailed off.

"We didnt" i walked pass her to the bar pouring me a drink "Dont you think its time to forgive her. She hasnt been getting a lot of sleep all she does is watch you". King says. "I dont want to ta-" "Hes right captain your hurting mom" Diane interrupts.

"This is not-" "maybe you should" ban tried to say. "THIS DOES NOT CONCERN ANY OF YOU" I yelled slamming my hands on the counter.

"I would prefer not to speak about this right now" "why? why do you continuously hurt her" "king stop" "do you have any idea how this is making her feel?!?" he yelled.

"So how I feel doesnt matter? Let me ask you something king hypothetically speaking what would you do if someone you loved jumped on front of a sword that was meant for you and didnt wake up for 2 weeks and the next time were captured and tortured sustaining really bad injuries would you be okay with that? Every time getting hurt more than the last for your sake and they saw nothing wrong with it what would you do?" he stayed quiet.

"Im done talking about this excuse me" I walked out of the tavern letting tears slip from my eyes.

I just want to protect you.
