Protecting what is his (Bucky x Reader)

Imagine - even as the winter solider and years apart Bucky will still protect you

You had unknowingly joined the avengers with your best friend Steve, you don't know how he did it but somehow he convinced you it was for the best. You were going to give it a chance.

It had been some time since you joined them, you had formed close bonds with most of the avengers but would always be closest with Steve, you new him in the 40's and you had a sisterly love for him, you protected him like he was still the scrawny little kid from Brooklyn.

"That is a terrible idea." Sitwell said, something came threw the window and pulled Sitwell out and threw across to incoming traffic. You looked around and then to Steve and Sam, a shot came through just missing you, you jumped over to Steve and pulled him forward as a shot came out missing Steve, you pushed Sam forward with your foot another bullet missing Sam, Steve pulled the gear stick and the car slammed stop, the figure flew over top and he used his metal arm to land perfectly. You Sam and Steve stared out the window, you grabbed your face mask and pulled it on. You pulled your gun up to take a shot and a car smashed into the back of you pushing you towards the man who didn't even have a scratch from being throw off a car, he jumped over top and his metal arm grabbed onto the windshield.

Sam tried to stop the car but the car behind continued to push, the metal arm came through the roof and ripped the steering wheel off, you took a few shots but he jumped off back to the chair behind. The car rammed into the back of Sams car again, Steve put your arm around his neck and you grabbed onto Sam. "HOLD ON." He shouted, he used his shield to break open the door just as Sam's car flipped. Sam has fallen of first as you lost grip of him, you and Steve slid along on the door and watched the man grab a grenade launcher, he aimed at you and Steve, Steve pushed you out the way and his shield took the full impact of the explosion, you watched Steve he thrown into the air and off the bridge.

The man with the metal arm and his goons began shooting towards you and Sam who had rejoined you. "GET OUT OF HERE SAM." You shouted to him, it was muffled because of the mask you had on. You began shooting back, Sam crept to the boot of his car to get his suit.

He launched another grenade at you and you jumped over to the other side of the road, you jumped over a few cars too get away from all the shooting, you were near the edge and he shot another grenade at you, a car flipped over the side and you jumped just before it, you did a back flip and landed on your feet. You then began to run, you could see his shadow coming up on the bridge and waited for your moment, his eyes spotted Steve's sheild and he attempted to shot at him, you sent bullets up towards him and he stopped trying to take his shot, he pointed his gun down and started firing shots at where you stood, you began shooting towards him again and he aimed towards where you stood, he watched you as you ran and his hunt for you began.

He found you, you were behind a car, he rolled a little ball towards you and you threw it back to him it blew up just before it reached him and sent him flying back, you ran towards him and kicked him in the face, your wrapped your legs around his neck and attempted to strangle him with a piece of wire, he smashed you into a car and threw you over the top of him into another car, your mask had fallen off, you grabbed an electric disk and threw it at him and then you made a run for it. A shot rang out and you dropped to the floor, you'd been hit, he'd jumped up onto the car next to you and that's when your eyes linked, he hesitated and then one of his goons shot you again, you let out a scream of pain as one in a million chance it went near enough the same spot, the man with the metal arm and took aim at his goon just as Steve banged him off the car with his shield.

You saw Sam fly over and he kicked the man with the metal arm away, you heard a name you'd not met in a long time "Bucky." You weren't sure if you heard it correctly. Metal arm took aim at Steve, you ran over next to Steve and stood in front of him, Steve was correct. You and Bucky both stood their staring at each other, one of his goons took aim at you and went to shot but Bucky put his metal arm over the gun, Sam shoot a grenade at him and then he was gone.

*back at Hydra*

They had tried to wipe The Winter Soldiers memory again, he remembered the girl and he half remembered the man on the bridge, he new he'd known him but didn't know his name. He new her name, he knew her face.

He kept mumbling her name, she must have been a great force for all of that memory wipe to still remember her.

Pierce looked at the footage from the bridge, "he protected her. Even as him. She holds more power then we'll ever know." He said with a frown. "We need to get rid of her. She'll stop him from being who I want him to be." He said almost shaking in anger.
