Imagine: Late night chats with Bucky because you never really sleep turn into something more than you could ever think off.

You were pretty close with most people in the team but you never really got on with Bucky, you'd avoid each other at all costs, well not avoid but if you were ever left in a room together you'd up and leave without saying anything.

It was raining heavily, which is rarely ever did in New York.

You again were the last one to bed, you'd been up reading up in something and time had escaped you. You stood there glued to the window, listening to the droplets hit it, completely zoned out. You always found rain, well water of any kind relaxing, fascinating really.

Bucky was stood there watching you, he saw how focused you were on just staring out of the window, he laughed and shook his head, he wondered how you could even be in the avengers when he was able to walk into the kitchen and you hadn't even noticed him.

He moved towards you, he had a smirk on his face and was creeping up on you. "You ain't as quite as you think you are Barnes." You said without even turning around, your eyes still focused on the rain.

Bucky took himself back off to bed, "Night Barnes." You said smirking to yourself, "Night Ariel." He smirked back.

Bucky had been getting nightmares every day this week, he would come out while you were in the lounge and get his normal glass off water, you started off with the good nights, the same time for everything every night.

It had been a week, you expected the super soldier to be over it by now. It was raining yet again, but something told you this wasn't right. Bucky did his normal coming out and you watched him move across the kitchen to get a glass off water. This time he didn't look up, he just stood there and stared at the window, you could see the difference in his face; you walked over to him.

"You okay Barnes?" You asked awkwardly standing next to him, he didn't answer, but he did shake him head, you weren't comfortable with the situation but you knew you had to be of some help. "When I watch the rain, I listen to it rather than watch it, you can hear each different drop hit a different surface, you can hear it roll down until it meets another rain drop or just simply falls off." You say staring out the window, he stood there still listening to you, eyes closed. "Please talk more." He said just so you could hear him.

You shifted closer to him. "It all started when I was a kid; I'd loved water, I still do. But I would do anything to be in the rain. But living in Brooklyn, you never really got any rain. It started raining one day, heavily raining, I heard the people running about shouting that the heavens had opened up, I heard people run inside, my parents began panicking because they'd left loads of stuff in the garden, so I took advantage of that, I opened the front door and ran straight out into the rain, I stood there and felt every inch of it over my skin, my mum started calling me from the door and I ran inside; she began to really tell me off and I went straight to bed." You finished laughing, Bucky had a soft smile on his face.

"You sounded like a little weirdo." Bucky smirked, "yeah; you're not the first person to call me that." You said quite glumly, Bucky looked down he didn't mean to hurt you. "Don't worry Barnes, I'm used to it. Coming from a friend ain't as bad as everyone in school calling you it." You said shrugging. Bucky felt bad for what he said and headed off to bed. "Night Barnes, sleep tight." You said, "You too Ariel." He said, you'd began to really like that nickname.

The next day was different, you, Bucky, Steve and Sam had to go on a missions. "You'll he briefed in the jet. Get your stuff together we're leaving in 10 minutes." Steve said, hands on hips meaning business as normal.

In the jet it was like you and Bucky hadn't spoke for the past week. Sam sat next to you and was content on annoying you, until Steve began the debriefing.
