Sorry this is so late! I was caught up in a lot of stuff. This is beginning to sound like some false excuse so I guess I just get started.
By the way, I don't know how many people will know this character, since he was completely ignored in the anime, apart from the bit when you first meet him. For me, I just always remembered him though.

Kidou: Shut up, Fudou. But seriously, who are you?
Shadow: Remeber? I'm Shadow. We met during the alien fiasco?
Kidou: Sorry, not ringing any bells.
Gouenji: Yeah, I think I'd remember you if I met someone called Shadow.
Shadow: Well, funny story. My name's not ACTUALLY Shadow. It's just a nickname. My name is actually- wait, what is my name?
Kidou: You forgot your name? What person forgets their own name!?
Gouenji: He has a point.
Kidou: Even Fudou can remember his name and he's the stupidest person I know.
Fudou: Hey!
Gouenji: I half expected you to say "shut up, Kidou".
Fudou:...so, uh, if you're so smart, what's your first name, goggles.

Shadow: Best nameless friends forever! JOIN ME, IN OUR CONQUEST OF THE WORLD!! MWAHAHAHAH!!!
Kidou: Will there be penguins?
Shadow: Um, I guess so?
Kidou:...I think I can live with this...
Shadow: WOOHOO!! WORLD DOMINATION STARTS NOW!

When I first saw Shadow, I immediately thought: "well he's gonna be important!" Turns out I was wrong. I actually quite liked his design so it's a shame he was brushed aside like that. He served virtually no purpose to the story. Meh. That's enough ranting!
