Nobody knows a single thing about Ashley Tanner; not even the system. Lacking memories, parents, or identity in government records, she almost seems like a result of a glitch in the matrix.
Her unique appearance (icy white hair with blue streaks, white facial markings, and vibrant blue eyes), which in fact is somehow natural, doesn't help her fit in either.
The crowd that she manages to slip into almost instantly tips of S.H.I.E.L.D., who begins to take an interest in the mystery girl. As time goes on, it becomes obvious that Ashley isn't just different in appearance.
Ashley is just beginning to get a new life for herself together when she's whisked away into the world of different-than-average people, where she manages to get herself caught in a whirlwind of day-to-day adventures with a new group of people she happily claims as her family.
Can the teenager manage to sort out the blanks in her life? Will she ever figure out who she truly is? Or will she die saving the world as she's trying?
