Kenny Ackerman was known among gangs as one of the most intelligent and strongest leaders to exist. Even in his fifties, he had the body of a military man, and his intellect was unmatched. Of course, all this had been passed down to his dearest nephew.

"Roy, you there?" He slurred, tapping his fingers on the phone which was held to his ear. The almost empty wine bottle sat beside him on the coffee table.
"Yeah, it's pretty bad. For both of them.....What do you mean 'why did the plan change'? You think I'd be that näive so as to leave the other one alone?"
"........shut the fuck up, Roy. I can't believe I put up with you. I could always choose not to, you know. I got plenty connections."
".......shut up and listen. I'm gonna hit the other brats up. I'll chat with ya later."
Before the other one could protest, he ended the call with an irritated sigh. Amateurs.

He immediately dialed another number. A shaky voice instantly picked up. Definitely a coward.
"Hey giraffe, good job last time. I didn't get to tell you. You got the amount, right?.........yeah, I figured. So listen, I'm gonn' need you to do one more thing for me. Will ya, lad? Good. The thing is....."
And he went on to provide a detailed explanation of the plan he had in mind. Finally the scared voice repeated the entire thing to him thrice, and only when Kenny Ackerman was fully satisfied did he hang up the phone.

"Mmm..." He grabbed a toothpick and picked at his teeth, deep in thought. This was definitely unappetizing to him. He partly wished he could just let everything go and go back to having fun as usual, but the intense fire in his heart didn't let him. There were too many grudges to let go of.

Without thinking about it, he threw the toothpick into the faraway dustbin with his deadly aim and picked up his other phone to look through the messages. A certain young man had sent him a lot of texts, obviously in a really stressed time of his life. He read all of them for the fifth time, a sadistic pity tugging at his chest.
An acquaintance of the said young man had also messaged him, but he had been much more cautious about his words. This one was definitely a thinker.

He let out a deep sigh and put down his phone, staring at the way a few documents slightly drifted away from him in the brief wind. What had his life come to?

The small space, drenched in dark golden light, was compact enough to make me really uncomfortable. It was pretty dark here, with only splotches of the candlelight making my surroundings barely visible. It all looked very much a place that lovers would come to to have some privacy. I wished I hadn't come here.
I had no choice.
I flicked my hair away from my eyes as I saw a dark figure approaching. Definitely a man, dressed in a neat tuxedo and with a glittering eye mask on his face. He looked ready for a masked ball.

"Ackerman?" He asked, tilting his head as the word rolled off his tongue in an elegant, honey-like voice. I did nothing but glare at him, really not liking the look in his eyes. "I'm ready for the deal." He purred.

"I'm not." I growled. Anything to make him uninterested.
"I think you will be." He made a motion so as to sit beside me, making my muscles tense. Apparently sensing this, he scanned my expression in amusement. "Can't a man sit?"
I looked away from him in irritation as he made himself comfortable beside me, one hand resting on the table. It was almost like we were the only ones here in this stupid restaurant. Almost.
"So..." He began in a seductive voice. "Why would a reputed man like you agree to meet a simple guy like me?"
"Out with it it." I snapped as I turned myself towards him. "Unlike you, I haven't got all evening."
"Hmmm, I thought you'd be more vicious than that." He cocked an eyebrow, regarding me lazily. Before I could open my mouth to reply, he started chuckling. "Well, I guess in this context, it can't be helped. Something important to you is at stake. Yeah, it can't be helped. Hehe.."
