Meredith's p.o.v
* * * *So much for sleeping in after a crazy night of getting obliterated. It was 8 A.M and while everyone else was still knocked out cold, I found myself tip toeing across the guest room floor and swinging the door open quickly to keep it from squeaking too loud.
I look down both ends of the hallway before tiptoeing to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee and a bowl of cereal because I was starving.
I swiftly and quietly fill the coffee pot with water before dumping it into the machine. I scoop the correct amount of ground coffee into a coffee filter before placing it back in its rightful home and turning the machine on to brew the coffee. Luckily the boys seemed to have been smart and bought quite possibly the quietest coffee machine I've ever used.
I really wasn't expecting any of the guys to be up at this time considering how plastered we all got last night, so running around the kitchen in my underwear and Luke's shirt—which he probably won't be getting back—didn't seem like an issue to me. That is—until I heard the sound of a door squeaking open and a sleepy Luke shuffling down the hallway.
I stop all movements, hoping he doesn't see me, but he does and he rubs his eyes for a moment before letting out a big yawn. I let out a small laugh at the sight of a tired, hungover Luke and I can't help but think of how absolutely breathtaking he looks this morning—even with his bed head.
"Hey," Luke finally says in a sing-songy way, his voice raspy from having just woken up, "What're you doing up so early?"
Luke makes his way fully into the kitchen and plops himself down onto a barstool across the counter from me.
"Just couldn't sleep—a bit restless." I shrug, pulling 2 cups from the cabinet above me, "Coffee?" I ask.
"Please." Luke says and I nod my head, closing the cabinet and setting the mugs down on the counter. I turn and take the coffee pot from the machine, pouring coffee into the mugs before returning the pot home.
"I could get used to this." Luke chirps from behind me. I turn around to see Luke with his chin in the palm of his hands while he stares at me.
A blush creeps onto my cheeks as I remember that I have no pants on and I'm in his shirt which is only further fueling his fantasy.
"Don't get too attached." I joke, shuffling over to the fridge to grab the half 'n' half.
"God, you even know how I like my coffee." Luke coos which only earns a small chuckle from me as I scoop 2 spoons of sugar and pour a little half 'n' half into his cup of coffee before turning around and setting it down in front of him.
"Thank you." He says before lifting the mug to his lips and taking a sip, humming at the taste of the coffee I made for him.
"Tastes better when you make it."
I roll my eyes and take a sip of my own coffee to which Luke makes a disgusted face, "I can't believe you drink black coffee, Meredith."
"Why?" I ask with a smile before setting my cup down onto the counter. Luke shrugs, "You just don't strike me as that type."
I furrow my brows, "What? Do I look like the kind of girl who goes to Starbs with the most complicated order on planet earth?"
Luke takes another sip of his coffee before setting it back down and throwing his hands up in defense, "You said it not me."
I grab the hand towel from the handle on the stove and throw it at Luke who tries to shield himself from it.
"You're such an ass."
Luke stands up from the barstool and walks around the counter to stand behind me. His hand gently guides my hair behind my shoulder before he leans down to my ear, his lips brushing the skin.
"Let me refresh your memory," Luke pauses to spin me around and lift me onto the counter by my hips, "And maybe you'll rethink calling me such a foul name."
"Never." I smile deviously.
"Challenging me?"
I shake my head, "Don't even think about it, Hemmings. You know the rules."
He furrows his brows and gives me a small smirk, "And uh—what are these rules, Merebear?"
"If you don't want Ashton to murder you or me, you'll cut it out right now."
"You see," Luke says, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear before cupping my cheek with his large hand, "Ashton isn't here right now, is he?"
I swallow hard and tug my bottom lip between my teeth. Luke leans close to my ear and chuckles deeply, "That's what I thought." He whispers before attaching his lips to the sensitive skin below my ear, sucking harshly.
I let an involuntary moan escape from my lips yet again and I feel Luke smile against my skin before he moves down my neck, biting and sucking harshly.
"Luke," I breathe uncontrollably, moving my head to the side for better access as my eyes flutter shut. Luke's hands wander up the sides of my thighs and underneath my shirt, giving my sides a small squeeze. His lips move across the base of my throat to the other side of my neck, leaving sloppy, wet kisses up to my jawline and then sucking roughly on my neck.
"Luke—you have to stop." I pant.
"I can't." He growls deeply into my ear before kissing along my jawline until his face is in front of mine.
"Can I kiss you, Meredith?"
His request takes a moment to register in my brain. His thumb runs across my bottom lip and it takes everything in me not to give in to him, so I smile before putting my hands on his chest and pushing him away gently.
"No, Lu."
"Fuck, but why?"
"Because you know the rules."
"Fuck the rules. I want to kiss you."
"Well you can't. Now drink your coffee before it gets cold."
