Meredith's p.o.v

"Awful rude of you not to have breakfast made for my awakening." Mikey jokes as he pours himself a cup of coffee while I stuff a spoonful of cereal into my mouth.

"Mikey—she's not your personal chef." Calum retorts and I pat his back to thank him for speaking for me.

"I let her stay in my home, the least she could do is make me pancakes."

"You're such a dick sometimes." I laugh after swallowing my bite of cereal.

"Not sometimes—always." Luke laughs.

"Hey," Mikey pauses to turn around and point a spoon at Luke, "You shut your mouth when you talk to me."

"Oh how very original of you."

"Hey, fuck off, Meredith."

"Mikey, are you on your man period?"

"You disgust me."

"Hey, easy you two." Ashton's voice interrupts as he steps into the kitchen, curls matted on top of his head and I can't help but laugh at his rather horrible bed head.

"She started it." Mikey says, pointing his finger at me while I shove another bite of cereal into my mouth.

"And I finished it." Ashton giggles, making his way to the coffee pot and pouring himself a cup. Soon the whole gang was huddled around the island drinking their coffee, and I felt so content being here with them.

"So what's the plan tonight, kids?" Ashton asks.

"Oh—I'm going out tonight with Mason and a few other girls—you'll have to count me out." I say, finishing my last bite of cereal before all hell breaks loose.

"What?"

"No you can't. Why?"

"Absolutely not. Who the fuck said this was okay?"

"Boo, you whore."

My eyes widen at their inability to function without me. I laugh loudly at them before awing at how adorable it was that they loved me so much, they didn't want to go one night without me.

"You guys are sooo cute," I coo, getting up to put my bowl in the sink, "but I already promised I would go, so you'll have to live without me for one night."

"But we'll, quite literally, die without you." Calum says before taking a sip of his coffee. I shrug my shoulders, "You don't have a choice. I have friends outside of you guys, y'know." I laugh.

"What are we suppose to do then?" Luke pouts, sticking his bottom lip out and blinking rapidly. I pout my lip too and ruffle his messy hair, "You'll just have to go on without me."

"B-B-But—"

"No buts, Lucas. You'll survive."

"Haha—you said buts." Mikey laughs at his own immature comment and I can't help but roll my eyes.

"Well I need a ride home. I have so many things to do before Mason picks me up." I sigh, making a mental checklist of everything I have to do before I even start to get ready to go out.

"I can take you." Ashton offers and I smile before nodding my head, "Great. I've gotta go grab my stuff."

I trot out of the kitchen and down the hallway to the guest bedroom. I quickly grab my dress, shoes and phone charger before switching the light off and shutting the bedroom door behind me. Ashton grabs his keys off the hook and slips on his sunglasses.

"Ready, Merebear?"

"How many times do I have to tell you guys to not to call me that?"

"Enough times until you get sick of it and just let us call you Merebear." He grins cheekily and I punch his shoulder.

"Bye, Meredith. I hope you have a horrible time and are begging to come hangout with us later!" Mikey yells as Ashton shuts the door behind him.

"Think Mikey is upset I'm ditching you guys tonight?"

"No, what makes you think that?" Ashton asks sarcastically, earning a small laugh from me as he opens the passenger side car door for me. I plop myself into the seat before Ashton shuts it and jogs over to the driver side, swiftly jumping in and turning the ignition on.

"So where are you guys going tonight?" Ashton asks as he pulls down the driveway and onto the main road. I shrug my shoulders, "Really, I'm not sure. Some type of night club in the city."

"In the city?" Ashton asks, glancing over at me before returning his eyes back to the road. I nod my head, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure."

"Do me a favor," He pauses as he stops at a stop sign and makes a left turn, "Be careful—like very fucking careful."

I furrow my brows, "I know."

"You're a beautiful girl, I just want you to be careful and stay safe. Don't go wandering off on your own."

"Ash, I know."

"I know you know, Mere. I just want you to be safe."

"I appreciate your concern." I smile.

"And you know if you want to leave or need anything, you call me." Ashton says as I nod my head slowly and focus my attention on the road.

"But have fun. I know Mason will take good care of you—she can be a little scary." Ashton laughs.

"She's only scary if you piss her off."

"Well at least I know if someone pisses her off, they're going down." Ashton says as he pulls into the driveway.

"Thanks for the ride, bruv." I smile before reaching over and pinching his cheek between my thumb and pointer finger, then hopping out of his car.

"Don't ever call me bruv again."

"Why? I think it's kinda quirky."

"Quirky? God—who are you?" Ashton jokes.

"Hey, fuck you."

"Be careful, loser."

"Will do, bruv."

And with that, Ashton pulls away before sticking his arm out the window and give me the finger.

Sibling love at its finest.
