Meredith's p.o.v

I watched the rain tap against my window, small sounds of thunder filling my ears as I sat the basket of freshly cleaned clothing on my bed. I began taking shirts out of the pile, sliding them onto hangers before hooking them onto the rod in my closet.

It's been a few day's since the debacle at the night club and Luke and I's intense kiss, but I just needed time to myself—to think about what I had done.

I kissed Luke. I liked kissing Luke—2 things that can never, ever happen again as long as I'm here. But, I couldn't hide from him for the rest of the summer, so I planned to forget the kiss even happened.

As I folded a pair of shorts and placed them into my dresser, I heard chatter from my mom and the boys in the kitchen and immediately, my stomach dipped with butterflies at the sound of Luke's voice.

No, Meredith—N.O.

I continued along with my folding as footsteps drew closer to my bedroom door before it swings open and I'm attacked by the large group of boys, fists on my head noogieing me, shouts in my ear from left and right.

"Where have you been?"

"Haven't texted or called!"

"Are you ill? What's your issue huh?"

I was quiet for a moment before quickly glancing at Luke and turning away. I took a deep breath before hanging up a shirt and turning around with the fakest smile plastered to my face.

Sometimes you gotta fake it till you make it.

"Y'know, princess's , the entire world doesn't solely revolve around you." I joke as I fold my arms over my chest.

"Agree to disagree there, Merebear." Mikey says, looking at his fingernails.

"Of course you do. You always disagree with me."

"I do not."

"There you go again."

"Shut up." Mikey snaps before cracking a small smile. I laugh and put away the few remaining clothes left in the basket before pushing myself to sit on top of my vanity.

"So what brings you to my home today?" I ask, mostly talking to Ashton but I figure why not address the whole group.

"Well considering it is pouring down rain, I figured we should get you out of this house and bring you to our house."

I furrow my eyebrows, "For what exactly?"

"We could play guitar hero or watch movies or you could bake us cookies."

"Oh can I?" I ask sarcastically before rolling my eyes. Ashton nods, "Mmhmm—And it's suppose to stop raining later, so we could have a fire, have some drinks." He says, trailing off towards the end.

"You should invite Mason, too." Calum suggest before Luke scoffs and smacks the back of his head.

"Why don't you invite her you pansy?" Luke scolds.

"Am I missing something here?" I ask.

Calum shrugs, "I may or may not have a small, teeny tiny crush on Mason."

"Aw—Calpal," I coo, stepping closer to him and tugging him into my chest, "You've got a crush."

He pushes me away from him as I begin to laugh, "Enough of that. I just think she's—"

"Beautiful."

"Hilarious."

"Totally a cool girl."

Calum looks at Mikey, Luke and Ashton.

"You guys are such a pain!" Calum says, earning a small laugh from me.

"Cal," I pause, cupping his cheeks in my hands, "If you like Mason, show her. You call her and invite her over tonight."

"But—"

"No buts, Calum. Buck up and call her. Girls love a guy who can shoot their shot." I smile. Calum smiles back and gives a small hug to my waist.

"Thanks, Mere—I'm gonna go call her." Calum says, pushing himself off of my bed and making his way over to my bathroom, shutting the door and locking it.

"You're not mad that he likes your friend?" Ashton asks. I shake my head before smiling, "No. it would be wrong of me to stop him from chasing a girl he likes just because she's my friend."

"Plus," I pause and crack a small grin, "It's not like I'm gonna date Calum."

Mikey snorts and begins cackling on my bed.

"Can you imagine Meredith and Calum dating?" Mikey snorts again, which earns a few laughs from Luke, Ashton and I.

"Or Me and Meredith?" Mikey says again.

"Or Luke and Meredith?" Ashton says with a laugh. Mikey joins in, but Luke and I just give a small laugh, considering we made out just days ago. I'd say I have a wide imagination of what it would be like if Luke and I dated.

"Yeah right." I say, glancing at Luke through the corner of my eye. He's smirking, shifting his eyes over at me as he folds his arms over his chest.

"I feel like out of all of us, Luke and Meredith would be the most likely match." Mikey says.

"I don't think so." I shake my head.

"Yeah, I don't think Luke is Meredith's type." Ashton shrugs. I bite my lip, trying to contain a laugh that was ready to escape, but I kept it cool.

"I think you're right Ashton. Luke's not really my type." I say, glancing at Luke who rolls his eyes.

"Duh—I know my baby sister."

"Hardly." Luke whispers, just loud enough for me to hear him and a light blush creeps onto my cheeks.

Calum emerges from the bathroom with a smile spread across his cheeks before running to me and lifting me into his arms.

"Hey, easy. Fragile package here." I joke as he sets me down.

"Aw, Mere. You're the best. She said yes and she sounded really happy. I think I might ask her on a date." Calum said, practically bursting with joy.

"Well I'm happy for you. See? Just shoot your shot, boys!"

"Sometimes it's not that simple, Merebear." Luke retorts. I turn and look at him, cocking an eyebrow upward.

"Oh, Hemmings," I pause, stepping closer to him and patting his chest with my hand.

"You're just a special case."
