Meredith's p.o.v

"Alright, lets go get the truck."

"Hold a second, Lu. Are you thinking this through?" I ask. Luke turns around and looks at me, eyebrows furrowed together, "Thinking what through, baby?"

"We both can't show up to Ben's place, he'll know something is going on."

"Meredith—it's Ben. He's not gonna blab to Ashton or any of our friends for that matter."

"But what if he says something to Jack or your mum or—"

"I think you're reading too far into simply picking up a truck." Luke chuckles lightly, but this wasn't a game to me. We really needed to be careful and make sure that no one finds out anything.

"I'm serious, Luke. We can't risk anyone saying anything or seeing anything."

Luke folded his arms across his chest, "Well maybe we wouldn't have to hide and sneak around if you would just tell Ashton."

"Luke, I can't just tell Ashton I'm dating his best friend."

"That's the thing, Meredith—you can. You're the one who's choosing not to do it because you're too scared."

"Excuse me? I'm trying to keep our friend group from crumbling to bits, because once Ashton knows, there is no going back."

"I get that, trust me. You've been pounding it into my head since the moment you got back."

"Well obviously I didn't stress it enough, because you still can't seem to grasp it."

"You know what I can't seem to grasp? How you are twenty one years old and you're still letting your brother dictate who you can and can't date."

"It's not even like that, Luke. You aren't hearing me, just list—"

"Oh I'm hearing you loud and clear, Meredith. Get in the car—I'm taking you home."

"Fine."

I make my way to the passenger side, opening the car door and getting myself inside before shutting it. I buckle my seat belt quickly as Luke gets in the car, and the tension inside of this vehicle is one of the most uncomfortable feelings I've ever felt.

I don't see how Luke isn't getting just how messy things could get if Ashton found out at the wrong time. It's not that Ashton tells me who I can and cannot date, it's just that he specifically said his friends were off limits, and I respected that for quite sometime. That is, until Luke made me change my mind.

Luke made me go against all of the rules Ashton had against me dating his friends. I would have never done something like this for Calum or Mikey, but for Luke—I would risk the bond I have with my brother for him because I love him.

I love Luke.

Luke makes me feel safe when I'm feeling most vulnerable. He makes me feel beautiful, happy, horny. He makes me feel like no other guy has ever and I never wanted to stop feeling like that.

I sigh and reach my hand over to Luke's, pulling it to my lips and softly kissing the palm of his hand. He lets out a sigh as well, but doesn't say anything.

"I'm sorry, Lu." I say quietly, lightly kissing his finger tips. He doesn't say anything, but I had plenty to say to him as he parks the car in front of my house.

"You don't have to say anything, baby. I just want to tell you I'm sorry. We'll tell Ashton soon, because I don't want to hide and be sneaky anymore. I want to be able to kiss you in front of everyone. I want to hold your hand when we all go out to dinner. I want to sleep in the same bed with you and go on date nights without having to hide it,

"But most importantly," I pause, cupping his cheeks with my hands and turning his head to face mine, "I want to be able to tell you that I love you in front of everyone."

Luke was quiet for a moment as he stared back at me in disbelief.

"You love me?" Luke asks. I smile and nod my head, "I know–it's crazy, but—"

"I love you too." Luke says quickly before attaching our lips in a needy kiss. Luke eagerly pulls me over the center console, my legs straddling his hips as he deepens the kiss.

My fingers tangle in his hair as his lips drag, kiss and suck against my neck. "I love you so much, pretty girl." Luke says quietly against my neck.

"Lu," I pause, tilting his head up to look at me and I smile deviously at him.

"Let's go to my room."
