How could I have been so careless?

Getting caught by Mason was the last stresser I needed right now. That's one extra person I didn't plan on letting the secret slip to. Who knows—it could have been Ashton.

This was suppose to be between Luke and I only, but how exactly can you keep such a big secret like this from your best friend and expect them to be quiet about it?

Exactly—You don't.

One thing I knew for sure—Mason wouldn't dare say anything to anyone else about it. Granted, she wasn't suppose to know, but she did and I knew she would die with the lie if I asked her to.

And I need to be way more careful.

Mason and Calum were out in the kitchen giggling with each other when I heard Luke's door creak open from across the hall. I looked up from my phone to see Luke, leaned against the door frame of the guest bedroom, towel draped over his shoulder as water dripped off of his hair and onto his chest.

I bit my lip, "God, look at you." I practically moaned at just the sight of him. Luke smirked back quickly, "You're drooling again."

"Shut up—You're ruining it." I whine as he lets out a small, breathy laugh of his own.

"Want some coffee, babygirl?" He asks as he shuffles into the room, leaning down and planting a soft kiss to my lips.

"Mhmm." I hum, kissing him again.

"What do you say?" He asks, lips brushing against mine. I smile and tug his bottom lip between my teeth before smiling, "Please."

"Good girl." Luke smiles back, grabbing my hand and pulling me off of the bed. I pad behind him as we make our way down the dark hallway and into the kitchen.

"Good morning, Lukeypoo." Calum jokes as he hands Mason a cup of coffee. I quickly lift myself onto the counter top with Mason and give her a warm smile.

"Dude—If you call me that again I'm punching you in the face." Luke laughs as he smoothly makes his way around around the kitchen, gathering 2 mugs from the cabinet above and beginning to pour him and I cups of coffee.

He quickly pours mine before handing it to me and I smile warmly at him, "Thank you." I say quietly. Luke smiles and sends me a wink before beginning to make his own cup of coffee.

"So what do you think Ashton has planned for the gang today?" Calum asks. I roll my eyes, "Hopefully nothing because I could go for a do nothing day."

"Uhh—Yeah fucking right. Like Ashton is going to waste a day to do nothing when you leave at the end of summer." Calum says before taking a large sip of his coffee.

It really did hit me at that moment that yes, I would have to leave in the beginning of August, and it was already the end of June. I glance over at Luke, who seems unphased and is laughing with Calum and Mason, but now my mind has begun to wonder—what would happen between Luke and I once I left?

"What's up bitches?" Mikey groans as he makes his way into the kitchen and I'm immediately snapped out of my cloud of thoughts.

"Good morning to you, too." I laugh as Luke leans his back against the small space of counter between my legs. I smile and trace a heart shape against his back with my finger, earning a small smile from him before he takes a sip of his coffee.

"Meredith—shut up."

"Why do you always have to disrespect me like that?"

"Because I'm superior to you."

I can't help but crack a smile and roll my eyes at Mikey all at once. He thinks he's quite the jokester, but no one is going to help him the day I finally decide to punch him in the nose for his attitude.

"Who wants to guess what Ashton is going to make us do today?" Mason asks as she twirls a piece of her dark brown curls around her finger before letting it bounce back.

"Honestly—I have no idea. could be any—oh, well good morning princess." Mikey says as he locks eyes with Ashton, who looked very excited—more than usual.

"So guys—I'm going on a date tonight." Ashton announces to the group and I'm fully shocked as to what I'm hearing.

"Wait a minute—you're going on a date?" Luke questions, furrowing his eyebrows together in the middle.

"Yes. Her name is Daisy. It's funny because I met her at the grocery store the other day when I was going to get Luke his stupid blackberry jam because he can't eat strawberry jam like the rest of us." Ashton chuckles at the end.

"Yeah, so what? I don't like the strawberry kind." Luke defends, folding his arms across his chest.

"Anyways, so you guys are on your own tonight. I've got a few errands to run so I'll be back in a few." Ashton says as he picks his keys from the hook by the front door.

"Finally we get a break from you and your shenanigans." Mikey jokes.

"You love them!" Ashton yells as he shuts the door.

"Well, I hate to be a party pooper, but if I get some alone time with Mason–I'm taking it." Calum says, grabbing Mason's hips and helping her off of the counter.

"You three can watch a movie!" Mason wiggles her eyebrows at me.

"Uhhh—I'd rather not with dumb and dumber over here." Mikey whispers, pointing to Luke and I as I roll my eyes.

"I'm going to go downstairs and play games on my phone."

"Pretty lame of you."

"Meredith—shut up."

"If you tell me to shut up one more—"

"Shut. Up."

"Mikey!" I yell after him, looking for anything on the counter I can throw at him, but he soon disappears down the basement stairs.

I huff and look back at Luke, tucking a stray hair behind my ear, "Then there were two I suppose."

"Finally—Go get your shit together, babe." Luke says excitedly, grabbing my hips to help me off of the tall counter before setting me down on the ground again.

"Why? Where are we going?" I ask, smiling widely in excitement. Luke places his pointer finger against my lips to hush me.

"Shhhh, pretty girl—Gotta be sneaky."
