Meredith's p.o.v
* * * *"Cheers to girls night!" Tj yells before we lift our shots into the air. I shoot the tequila straight back, the liquid warming my throat and making my stomach feel fuzzy. I shake my head and squint my eyes, trying to shake the intense feeling of the tequila.
I think tonight would be an early night for me considering I've eaten a bowl of Cheerios and a jello cup today. Basically I have no real food in me.
"Woo! That shit is rough." Tj says. I felt a little less like a whiney bitch as I noticed all 4 of us, while we love tequila, have a hard time with the first few shots of it.
"Okay, third round is on me." I smile before waving a bartender over and ordering another round of tequila shots for the girls.
"So I guess Saturday's are actually for the girls?" Mason jokes.
"Is it Saturday? I can't even keep track of the days anymore." Helena says as she rubs her forehead.
"Me either. The only way I keep track of what day it is depends on my work schedule." Tj shrugs.
"Same!" Helena says as the bartender returns with our third round.
"Okay, ladies. Drink up." The bartender, named Sterling, encourages us with a smile.
"Thank you, sir." I smile before paying for the drinks and giving him a generous tip for his kindness. He looks into my eyes and thanks me before tugging his bottom lip between his teeth. I smile back before he has to move along to the next group of people who wave him over.
"Oh, Meredith. He definitely thought you were cute." Tj says, leaning across the table a little bit. I shake my head before taking a sip of the Mango Mojito I ordered. "No way, he was just being friendly."
"I think I know why you don't have a man." Mason says, resting her elbow on the table, her chin in her hand.
"Why?" I question as I furrow my eyebrows.
"Because you're oblivious. It's like you can't read men to save your life. Eye contact and lip biting is definitely a sign of attraction." Mason laughs lightly.
My mind, again, wanders to Luke because he always did that to me. Maybe not both at the same time, but oddly we always made eye contact when we spoke to each other. Well, at least until he would make me blush and I would have to look anywhere but at him.
"I'm not oblivious." I defend, but deep down I knew I was at times. Maybe I am horrible at reading men.
"Awe Mase, give her a break. She hasn't had time to focus on dating because she's been focusing on getting herself through school like a good girl."
Again, Luke pops into my head at the multiple times he's caressed my cheek and called me a "good girl" when I obeyed his commands.
"Exactly. And there is nothing wrong with that. So here's to Meredith being a smart, strong, independent young woman!" Tj says, holding up her shot glass. We all raise ours before shooting them back.
I decide this time to chase it down with my mango Mojito. Normally I don't chase my tequila because mama didn't raise a bitch, but I felt I needed to on this one.
Suddenly, Dirty Laundry by Blackbear booms through the speakers in the club and Tj and Helena squeal.
"I looove this song!" Tj says before grabbing onto Helena and running out onto the dance floor. Mason and I watch and laugh as they dance their asses off.
"Woo!" I yell while I clap my hands. It's not long after that Helena and Tj get snatched up by 2 very cute guys and they're moving further into the crowd of people to dance.
"That didn't take long!" Mason yells over the music and I can't help but laugh. Everything was beginning to get funnier as the alcohol began to slowly kick in.
"I'll be right back! I'm going to get us two more of those mango Mojitos!" Mason yells again before hopping off the tall stool and walking over to the bar.
I sip on my drink until I finish it off, the buzz hitting me like a brick before dying off again. My phone buzzes from my back pocket and I quickly retrieve it.
Luke: everything okay?
Meredith: luke, it's late. I'm fine, go to sleep.
Luke: not until you're home.
Meredith: you're so difficult.
Luke: xx
I put my phone back into my pocket just as Mason returns with 2 more mango Mojitos. I clap my hands before taking a long sip of the fruity drink.
"Mmmm." I hum as Tj returns to the table.
"Those guys were so hot." Tj pants, sweat beading on her forehead.
"Where is Helena?" I ask, taking another sip of my drink.
"She went to order us two more rounds."
"Two?" I ask with wide eyes, not sure if I'm quite ready for two more shots.
"She said something about a surprise." Tj shrugs.
Helena returns with the familiar tequila shots, only there's five instead of four, and five, what appears to be, blowjobs. I can't help but laugh.
"Why did you get five of each?" I ask.
Helena smiles devishly, "Heads or tails, Mere."
I furrow my eyebrows, "What—"
"Pick." She interrupts. I look at Mason who shrugs, just as confused as I was with Helena's little game.
"Tails."
Helena quickly retrieves a quarter from her bag and flips it into the air, catching it and flipping it onto the back of her hand.
She smirks, "You have to drink the extra two from each round."
Mason and Tj laugh and I cover my face with my hands before laughing.
"Oh no, are you trying to kill me?" I whine as she places the 4 shots in front of me.
"Drink up, honey." Mason pinches my cheek.
I quickly get the two shots of tequila over with before appropriately downing the blowjobs that Helena ordered.
"Nice. Like a true pro." Tj says, holding her hand out for me to high five while Sterling returns with two more shots of tequila.
"Oh, we didn't order these." Mason corrects him politely.
"Someone at the bar ordered them for you." Sterling says before looking at me and placing them down in front of me.
I look around at the 3 girls and they bust out laughing.
"It would be rude not to drink them." Helena shrugs.
I huff and down the 2 shots, chasing them with the mango. The 3 girls laugh hysterically at me and I shake my head at them.
"I'm going to die."
