"you may kiss the bride."

jack pressed his lips to mine, and he and I looked up.

our small wedding party consisted of my mother, scarlett, henry, trinity and even ben. we were surrounded by happiness.

we went back to our house for a small wedding reception; we had dinner and a good time.

"you look beautiful, jane. it's so wonderful to see you," ben said, gently kissing me on the cheek; he'd always been so kind to me.
"likewise, ben. thank you for being here," I said, smiling at him.

later, I sat on the couch with henry and scarlett, with trinity in my arms; I loved these three children so much. of course trinity was my own, but henry and scarlett had been so loving and accepting of me, and I adored them. they were cuddled up to my sides, nearly asleep, and jack helped me get them upstairs to bed.

we came back downstairs to ben and my mother, and we had drinks.

"a toast to the lovely couple, their new baby, and to a happy and healthy future," my mother said, lifting her glass, and she hugged me. she had been wonderful and so supportive of jack and I despite the strange circumstances, and she was an amazing grandmother to trinity.

jack and I were so fortunate to be surrounded by so much love.

"did you expect any of this to happen to you a year ago?"

jack and I were lying in our bed, holding each other and talking.
"not in the slightest," I said, laughing a little bit. "but I'm so glad it did. I don't think I've ever been so happy."
he pressed his lips to my forehead and smiled at me.

"are you happy?" I asked him, and his eyes met mine.
"the happiest I've ever been. our family is perfect; you, trinity, the kids. I have everything I could ever want."
I snuggled up to him in bed, resting my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

"I love you, jack," I whimpered. reaching for his hand. "thank you for putting so much happiness into my life."
"no, jane. thank you. for walking into my life and making it so perfect. I love you more than anything in this world," jack said, kissing me again, and we fell asleep in each other's arms.

the end.
