Chapter 17

Cami's POV

Friday, February 27th, was the last day I saw both Cole and Lili. They had left early that day because Lili had a doctors appointment. I called Lili later that day to ask her how her appointment went. No answer. I texted her a few times, but I got left on delivered. Eventually, I gave up and went to bed.

*A few days later*

Monday, it was Monday already. I woke up to my phone blowing up with thousands of notifications. "What the hell?", I thought to my self. I picked up my phone and saw that I was getting tagged on one of Cole's recent posts. It was a post about his parents funeral. I called Cole to apologize for not attending the funeral.

*On call*

Cole: Cami?

Cami: I'm calling to apologize.

Cole: For?

Cami: Not going to you parents funeral. I was out of town doing shit.

Cole: Cami, your fine, I understand.

Cami: I know, I would've went. If I could have.

Cole: I know.

Cami: So, if its ok with you I am gonna come over in a bit,before I go to work. I wanna talk with Lils.

Cole: Lili just left, she went to set.

Cami: Why, I thought you guys had off?

Cole: We did. She went to go talk to Roberto. So if you want to go talk to her, I'd go to set.

Cami: Ok thanks.

Cole: Yeah no problem.

*Off call*

I got out of bed, quickly threw on pants and a sweatshirt, grabbed my keys, and headed to set. When I got there, Lili was leaving her trailer. I got of my car and ran up to her and put my hand her shoulder she turned around.

"Cami?"

"Lils, can we talk?"

I grabbed her hand and brought her to my trailer.

Cami: So, why haven't you been answering your phone?

Lili: I have been busy.

Cami: With?

Lili: Cole's parents funeral was on Saturday and it was hard on him, so I'm sorry if I haven't answered your texts and calls because I'm to busy comforting my boyfriend!

Cami: That was Saturday, I called you Friday.

Lili: And your point is?

Cami: I just wanted to see how your appointment went. That's all!

Lili: Why do you want to know so bad?! Huh?

Cami: I was just curious. Why is it such a big deal?!

Lili: Because Camila, I had a miscarriage!

Cami: What?

Lili: I had another miscarriage. So that's why I haven't answered my phone, because I am upset. I am ashamed, that I lost another baby. And everyone keeps telling me to have hope, but the thing is, I can't keep hoping for something that I will never have.

Cami: Lils don't say that.

Lili: Its true Cami, and we all know it, so why should I keep trying.

Cami: Because Lili, you don't just give up. That's not the Lili I know. The Lili I know, never gives up. The Lili I know, is not a quitter. She is a strong, beautiful women, who always tries no matter what. And I don't want to see you give up on something you have been wanting for ages. And losing the baby was not your fault.

Lili: But it was my fault.

Cami: Lili-

Lili: It WAS my fault this time.

Cami: What do you mean?

Lili: I haven't told anyone this, not even Cole. So what I am about to tell you, is a secret. Ok?

Cami: Ok.

Lili: So, on Friday morning, I woke up with bad stomach cramps. I thought it was just the baby kicking. So I ignored it and got up to use the bathroom. That's when I realized my pants were soaked with blood. I knew that I had already lost the baby. And there was nothing I could do. So I got changed and cleaned up while Cole was sleeping. The only reason that I didn't wake him up, is because I knew he would be disappointed. And I didn't want to disappoint him again. At least not at the time. And when we went to the doctors, you should have seen his face when we were told there was no heartbeat. He was so fucking upset. I mean so was I, but you could tell he was devastated. I wanted to tell him, that it was my fault. That I knew I had lost the baby already. But of course, me being the pussy I am, I didn't say one word.

Cami: Come here.

I pulled her into a long hug, as she cried on my shoulder.

Cami: Lils,honey, it wasn't your fault. You were scared.

Lili: I know but still.

Cami: Who else knows about the miscarriage?

Lili: Everyone but you. I told Mads and Kj, this morning, and I just told Roberto not to long ago.

Cami: Ok. But when you get home, I want you to tell Cole, exactly what you just told me.

Lili: No.

Cami: He deserves to know Lili.

Lili: Fine. But if he gets pissed off and dumps me. I blame your ass.

Cami: He won't.

Lili: Yeah ok.

Cami: Trust me.

Lili: Well if it's ok, i'm gonna head home.

Cami: You better tell him.

Lili: I will.

Lili left and headed home. What she didn't know is that when she got home, she wouldn't expect what was about to happen next.
