Chapter 39

The next day

It was Sunday afternoon. The day after Halloween. Cole was on the couch editing some photos from his last photoshoot with the tv on as background noise. While Lili was fast asleep in the rocking chair. Lili had days were she'd cry over nothing and she wouldn't want to do anything. And today was one of those days. As Cole was editing, he noticed that Lili was moving around a lot. He got up and walked over to her. Cole crouched down so that his face was at the same level as hers. He was about to wake her up, when he saw tear stains on both sides of her face.

C: Lils, baby wake up. (whispers)

She opened her eyes. And they were red and puffy.

C: Lili. Is everything alright?

L: I-I don't know (cries)

Cole helped her stand up and gave her a tight hug. Lili's breathing was fast just like her heartbeat.

C: Lils, following my breathing.

L: c-c-ole.

C: Breathe in. Breathe out.

Lili followed and soon her breathing was at a steady pace.

C: Atta girl. Just take it easy.

L: I'm s-so sorry. It's just o-one of those days.

C: My love, it's alright. I completely understand.

L: You do?

C: Of course. But there is one thing I know that just might cheer you up.

L: What?

C: Well since tomorrow is going to be a busy day of photo shoots, interviews, and doctors appointments. I thought that today, we could Door Dash Taco Bell, cuddle on the couch while watching a movie. How does that sound?

L: Sounds good. (smiles)

C: I love you.

L: I love you too.

Cole kissed her soft lips before grabbing his phone and ordering their food. As he was doing that, Lili changed into a bra and sweatpants.

C: I ordered our food! It should be here soon! (shouts)

Cole walked into the bathroom and admired Lili.

Cole: Well hello beautiful girl.

Lili: Eyes off Sprouse. (chuckles)

Cole: I can't help it. Your just so fucking beautiful.

L: Yeah, ok.

Cole stood behind her and put his hands on her baby bump. She giggled as he kissed her neck.

L: I'm gonna put as shirt on.

C: Whyyy? (whines)

L: Because I don't need you staring at my damn boobs the whole time. (laughs)

C: Fine. You win. (pouts)

L: Can I have one of your shirts?

C: Yeah I guess so.

Cole grabbed one of his shirts and handed it to Lili. He watched as she put it on. Afterwards they went back out to the living room to wait for their food.

L: Hey cole?

C: Yes?

L: I'm craving for dairy queen, pickles and some other things.

C: Well, how about we eat our taco bell when it gets here, and then we go go to the store.

L: Thank you.

C: Anything for you.

He kissed her forehead as she rested her head on his shoulder.

They were watching The silence of the lambs, when there was a knock on the door. Cole got up and opened the door. The guy handed Cole the food and Cole gave the man money.

30 minutes later

After they finished eating, they got changed and headed to target. They got pickles, fruity pebbles, blueberries and baby onesies. Afterwards they went over to Dairy queen. Cole got a oreo blizzard, while Lili got a Reese's Peanut butter cup blizzard. Lili ate her's quickly and Cole finished his a few minutes afterwards. Then eventually they made it back to their apartment.

L: Thank you my sweet boy.

C: Your welcome. (smiles)

Lili hugged Cole before they both got changed into sweatpants and a T-shirt. Cole laid down on the couch and Lili laid in his lap. Her head rested against his chest and his arms were wrapped tight around Lili's small body.

C: You know, I'm surprised that your not pregnant with twins.

L: Well looks like I didn't get the twin gene. (chuckles)

She pulled the blanket up over her and Cole, and snuggled the side of her face into his chest. Cole stroked her hair and continued to watch the movie.

They laid like that for the rest of the day. Cuddled in each other's embrace. As it became night, they got ready and went to bed because they had a long day ahead of them.
