"Step away from the King!!"
I want to groan when I see my guards aiming their weapons against us, but I'm currently occupied at the moment.
I'll deal with them later.
"Oh," she says behind me, her voice low and teasing, filled with amusement, "do you mean this King?"
I am suddenly head butted, which makes me dizzy - forcing me to close my eyes - before she pulls me into a chokehold.
Someone's very controlling...
I can't help but groan in pain, and I hear her heart skip a beat.
Interesting.
When I open my eyes, I see her pull the trigger of one of her guns on one of my guards, resulting in the fool falling to the floor, gasping in pain. I take a moment to examine the bullet wound with my speed. I inhale the scent her gun is giving off and I hum in interest.
Valerian.
Whoever she's been in contact with before Destiny must be well-versed on magic like this - Valerian is very hard to find, if not impossible.
"If you take one more step closer, he dies, then you all are next." She hisses, and I can't help but lean closer to her.
She hits my head with the butt of her gun and I jolt in surprise. She glares at me but doesn't say anything. I look into her eyes, the same way she does with mine, and I can see the indecision within those azul real eyes.
A turmoil of emotions run past within her eyes, and it's enough for me to want to reconsider everything.
"Sir, are you alright?" I'm snapped out of my thoughts by one of my Royal Guards, Sam, and I sigh before nodding.
"I'm alright, Sam," I reply snippily, "but I do need know why my orders were disobeyed."
I narrow my eyes at him, and he blanched. He looks at the woman holding me hostage, and I'm sure something in her eyes made him pale further.
"Your Majesty... Lord Riley ordered that we entered your office armed just in case you were in danger." He replies, and I smirk.
"I'm not in any danger." I reply, and my Mate chuckles.
"He's right," she agrees, "he isn't in danger. But he is going to die, so I don't know if that's classified as him being in danger, but I personally don't think so."
I feel her shrug, and my guards aim their weapons at her with renewed vigour.
"I dismiss you all, Sam," I say to him, and he looks at me worriedly, "I need to talk to my Mate."
Much to my amusement, I see all my guards blanch in surprise and fear.
"Your Majesty, a-are you certain that she... is your Mate?"
My amusement fades quickly as I glare at him.
"Are you questioning me, Sam?" I ask lowly, and I struggle to keep my displeased expression when I feel my Mate shiver.
"N-no, Sir. I was just wondering--"
"I don't emloy you to fucking wonder," I cut off sharply, "you are here to follow my orders, and that is what I expect of you."
Sam nods vigorously, and I almost smirk.
"Y-yes, S-sir, I apologize." He stutters, and I smile.
"Salir. Todo de ustedes. Toma el sangrado contigo, su sangre se está volviendo tentadora." I say, and he does what I say and orders his subordinates out.
