Salma Corina's POV:

After the Group-Link, I spent some time with Caleb before he insisted on me going to sleep, but I could only go to sleep once he promised to wake up next to me.

Although it feels right having him next to me while I sleep, I feel like I've already developed feelings for him - not like it wasn't expected - but the fact doesn't change that we're friends, whether the Mate bond pushes or not.

I realise now that it's not really easy hiding your feelings from your Mate, especially if he's  Superimmortal and a Master. Caleb has been urging me to tell him why I'm acting weirdly but I can't really bring myself to tell him.

"At least promise me that you'll tell me when you're ready." He asks - almost pleads - and I nod at him.

"I promise." I said, and he visibly calmed down.

"And it better be before those two lovebirds return from their honeymoon." He warns, but I only roll my eyes at him.

"You do know that's a fake out, right?" I deadpan, but he smirked at me.

"Well, soon it's gonna be real." He hints, but I don't even get it.

"What are you--"

"You'll feel it, don't worry. Now, close your eyes please. It's 4 in the morning and you need to wake up in five hours." He says, but I roll my eyes before pulling him to me.

"Just embrace me, Master of Time." I say, and he places his arms around me and pulls me closer.

"You're not allowed to call me that." He murmurs into my ear.

"And why is that?" I ask before snuggling into his chest.

"Because you're my Mate, and I don't want you to call me that." He whispers, making me sigh in content before closing my eyes.

"I'll sleep on it." I say before letting the arms of sleep pull me in.

"Sleep well, my beautiful Mate." He whispers in my ear.

Even though those words have brought comfort to me for many days, the way he said them brought a foreboding on me that I didn't like. I didn't dwell on it since I was too tired, so I just let the arms of sleep engulf me into its embrace, even I'm feeling that this is the last time I may be sleeping peacefully for a while.

"MARIA JOSÉ!!" I yell out after slumping on the kitchen counter, and almost immediately I feel a gust of wind followed by a beautiful scent of vanilla.

"My dear beautiful sister, please don't make me kill you." She threatened, but I only rolled my eyes.

"Baby sis, I'm terribly hungry, I need my twin with me, my Mate has gone to fulfil his duty as the Master of Time, I slept at 4 in the morning and what you do is threaten me? That's not very nice of you." I mutter before looking at her, and I see that she has bags under her eyes, and I can tell by the way she's biting her lip that she's hiding a smile.

"You look like you didn't sleep either." I say worriedly, but she just shrugs it off.

"That's cause I....I was talking to Riley." She says, and I sense the reluctance in her voice and her aura change a little bit.

"Okay...what did you and that coot talk about?" I ask her, but she shakes her head, making me frown at her.

"That's new. You always tell me everything." I look at her weirdly, but she only rolls her eyes.

"I'll tell you when I know that you're ready to know." She says before going to the coffee machine.

"You want some coffee?" She asks, and I nod my head.
