"Ash," he breathed, "We're getting dangerous here."
"No head?"
Something red flashed through his eyes, as the corners of his mouth tugged into a smile. "You're going to give me head, whether you like it or not. I meant that we can't turn back after...

My feet seemed to fly over the path before me. They carried me faster than they've ever done before. Fear was surging through me, making all my survival instincts raise from the dead and go in full action. Tears streamed down my face, heating up my frozen skin.
All that flashed through my head was 'dad, dad, dad'. I didn't want to end up like dad. I wanted to go to dad, in the afterlife. I wanted to see him again. But I didn't want to die. I wanted-
Another huge wolf dove into my path, this one completely brown with yellow eyes. I shrieked in terror, braking on my heels, fleeing into the bushes. Fear was choking me, making it harder and harder to breathe and see clearly.
All I could see sharply was the ground before me. The rest was one big blurry mess, with blue and yellow flashes left and right. I was deafened by fright. The only thing I could hear was my own heartbeat thundering in my throat.
They were following me; I could feel it. Following after me. Every time I thought I'd shaken them off, they appeared in front of me out of nowhere, making me fall and scramble back to my feet numerous times. I knew my whole body was scratched open, but I felt nothing.
I moved faster through the thick woods than they did, but these wolves were a thousand times more strong, leapt higher than any other animal, and were with countless. Everywhere. They were everywhere. At this rate, my heart dared to fail on me.
Rushing through bushes, almost slamming into trees, I finally knew true terror. My whole body was cold with dread and I was sick with nausea. My vision was a blurry mess at this point, tears unable to cease to spill down.
My feet hooked behind a dead tree and I fell flat on the earth, twisting it painfully. A sharp pain spiked through me as adrenaline was rushing through my blood, numbing out the actual pain of spraining your ankle.
But I gathered myself and fell a second time, after pressuring the wrong foot. I tried again and bolted forward, swallowing, flashes of normal life flying by like leaves in a storm.
Cursing at Chase as we have lunch in the cafeteria with Jesse. Freeing Hades from the bathroom after mom locked him up. Taking him on long walks. Having Kye almost kill me by making me drink something I couldn't. Playing with dad's gun and pretending to shoot his killers.
My vision was now completely useless. My ears were buzzing, and my body felt nothing but blind terror. I stumbled into a bush, worked my way through it, considered hiding in it for a moment but stirred on by growling behind me, and swung myself out of it again.
As soon as I snapped my head up again, my blurry vision made out a shadow in the shape of a human being. Good God.
My surroundings seemed to play around me in slow-motion, every step I took thundering in my ears. Finally.
A faceless safety haven. Until I blinked and recognized him.
Kye.
His expression held a thousand emotions as he whirled around and saw me. I dashed forward and was in his arms before I knew it, spinning us both around. Waves of relief washed over me, leaving me shaking, crying, hurting.
