(A/N: Okay I might or might not be over my procrastination phase, it's summer break, what can I do? ;-; )
Manami had contemplated over her current predicament for a while, coming to a conclusion that the apparent Mukami brothers were absolute morons. They set out to acquire an Eve, not knowing who she actually is.
That's fantastic, she thought to herself in irritation, now I am dragged even deeper into that man's twisted plans. How tragic.
Telling them her identity now would be dangerous, since they would find a way to get rid of her permanently, rendering her useless. Manami understood that perfectly well, seeing how the situation was in no shape or form in her favor.
I might hate my life, but there is no way I will die under a bloodsucker's hand.
No matter how much she wanted to disagree, she couldn't argue that she had her father's pride. There would be no way she'd let herself die in any way which would make her look weak or shameful... Or by her own hand, as it had already been tainted with blood once too many.
"I don't even have my clothes..." Manami rubbed the temples on her now wrinkled forehead. "This just couldn't get any better."
She laid her face against her arm, as she rested on top of the desk in her newly-given room.
It was completely different from the one in the Sakamaki mansion. It had a darker green color scheme, in contrast to the previous pale pink.
The king-sized bed stood authoritarian to the room. On each side, small dark wooden bedside tables, each with a bouquet of bright purple violas and shiny pink camellia.
She smiled sorrowfully, picking one out of its glass vase, as the water dropped down its stem and onto the floor.
"They grow best in winter, don't they?" She sighed, as she took a look out the window. "I guess time flies by fast."
It had been months now since she's arrived in the Sakamaki mansion. Never would she have imagined that her life would be turned upside down so quickly, and such events would occur.
They should have probably discovered my disappearance by now, she looked thoughtfully at the flower in her hand, I wonder what they would have said.
She was starting to miss baking for Kanato, having late morning conversation with Laito, purposely teasing and pissing off Ayato. Not to mention her daily conversation with Reiji over some piping hot tea and teaching Subaru his way around a kitchen.
Another sigh escaped her lips.
"Too late to wonder now." She places it back into the vase, making sure it's stem touched the water. "Like he would care. He said it himself anyways..."
Her eyes widened at the realization of what was coming out of her mouth.
"Tsk, he is really getting on my nerves." She furrowed her eyebrows with a grimace.
The door flew open with a bang, causing her to quickly look in the direction it was coming from.
"Oi, you have been cooped up in the room too long."
The big giant angrily stomped to where Manami was now standing. Each Mukami brother was unique in some way, but Yuma, in comparison to the rest, was just a tad bit more childish. His fire-like and violent personality was already starting to get on Manami's nerves, and it hasn't even been a day yet.
