Chapter 31

"Yo, are you seriously the daughter of that Mayazaki guy they always show on TV?"

Ruki and Yuma came to a stop as they looked at the girl standing in front of them, surrounded by her new classmates. The two looked at each other, before intently watching the scene unfold with curiosity.

"Mm?" Manami hummed, as she looked up at the taller boy who was addressing her. "I guess I am."

"You hear that?" The boy pointed at her, as he looked behind him. "I told you so! I heard so much shit about her from my buddy in Tokyo!"

"For real?"   "Haha what the fuck?"  "You mean what that guy said?"

"Do pray to tell, what is it that you heard about me?" The girl folded her arms as she looked at the boy with raised eyebrows. "I am oh so curious."

"Aren't you like a bitch or something like that?" The boy laughed, getting in her face. "I heard you don't ever talk to anyone, and you have a spoiled princess attitude everywhere you go. Did your daddy's money get to your head, eh? You think you better than me?"

A scoff escaped Manami's lips, with a slight chuckle to follow.

"What's so funny?" The boy exclaimed, clear anger on his face. 

"Yes, I do think I'm better than you." The gray eyed girl said, taking a step forward, causing the boy to stumble back slightly. "Quite frankly, I feel sick just being in your presence. So how about you scram before I call my 'daddy' and tell him to drop the Nakamura group because his 'spoiled princess' daughter felt like it today?"

"How did you-"

"You are a cat playing in the lion's den, and now you have poked its cub, do you get it?" She whispered in his ear, but still loud enough for everyone else to hear. "So don't sabotage your daddy, okay?"

The boy gritted his teeth, as he grabbed her collar.

"Now listen up here you little bitch!"  He screamed. "Another word from your mouth and I will-"

He couldn't finish the sentence as he felt a hand wrap around his wrist which held the girl's shirt.

"Nakamura, long time no talk!" The Sakamaki triplet lifted up his fedora, as he removed the guy's hand off of the girl. "What's going on, man?"

"I was-"

"You were what?" Ruki watched as Nakamura bumped his back against the oldest triplet's chest. 

"Ayato! I was just-"

"You were just what?" Laito brought his face closer to his, as Ruki noticed a deadly red glint in his eyes.

Both of the Mukamis' eyes widened as they watched Ayato grab the guy's shoulder and tighten his grip around it, causing for the poor lowly vampire's legs to shake and his face to twist into a pained scowl.

"Sorry, I think you should speak up, since it seems both my brother and this lady cannot hear you!" Laito smiled, but it wasn't the one of happiness or delight.

Both of the Mukamis looked at the gray eyed girl, who stared at the interaction unfold for a moment, before turning around to get a drink at the vending machine, ignoring the situation happening next to her.

Ruki had never seen the brothers act this way for any sacrificial bride that Karlheinz had brought to them. She must be that special existence that they all referred to as 'Eve.' That is the only explanation.
