A New Beginning

Chapter 36

Hannah POV

Here we go I am slowly making my way to the water labor area with the hopes this will help out.  I really don't want drugs, but I do not know how much more I can take.  I am trying to be strong and not show Ryder how bad this hurts, but I think he knows.  I am now more comfortable that Mary is here now, and can help me with some of the questions that I have.  We make our way into the room and in the middle, I see a huge looking pool and look up at the doctor like what the hell am I suppose to do.  Ryder looks at my face and laughs a little and knows where I am going with his.

"So she needs to do what doc?"

"Well she will take her gown off and then get into the pool"

"I am not going in naked."

"It's ok we have extra clothes her for you most women are in shorts and sports bra and we also have some shorts for the dad so they can get in with you and help you.  Everything is in that room there."

I make my way to go and change then a gush of water comes in between my legs did I just piss myself seriously.  

"Everything ok in there?"

"Yeah no umm I had an accident"

The doctor comes in and checks everything out "Well looks like your labor will progress more now your water just broke go change contractions are going to get closer and stronger."

Ryder comes in here and helps me change and my god he was right I'm hit with crippling pain and grabs his arms and hold on for dear life. Now for sure, he can see the pain I am going through tears are streaming down my face now.  

"Hey baby it's ok I know it hurts, but you need to breathe for me let it out it's ok."

The contraction finishes and we finish getting dressed and into the pool.  Mary comes to my side and hands me a cup of ice chips for me to munch on.

"Why can I have water, not ice chips?"

"You don't want to have anything in your stomach if you need meds so you don't get sick"

I get into the pool and as soon as I do I am hit with another contraction, and it hurts more than the one.  I can not take it anymore I do make some noises for the first time. Ryder gets behind me in the pool and messages my back while I go through the motions.  I hear a knock on the door and a nurse walks in "how are you doing"

"I am ready for meds before its too late."

I look at Ryder "I am sorry I can't take it anymore the pain is too much and it will only get worse"

"Hey hey baby look at me it is ok you do what you feel is right there is no wrong way and no right way just do what we need to do to bring healthy babies into the world"

The nurse looks at us and nods her head and goes to get everything that is needed for an epidural.   She walks in and gets me all the meds that I need and my god it hurt Ryder had to hold me still not a pleasant feeling. She leaves and we get back in the pool and continue with everything we are now having contractions that are every three minutes apart now.

"Hey babe how long have we been here it feels like it's been forever"

"babe its been almost ten hours of labor so far, we have a good bit left to go"

As the words leave him mouth I get checked again by the doctor and I am only at 6.5 cm and now I am done I am so tired and we haven't even gotten to the rest of the part.
