Chapter 30

KELLEY'S POV

I was driving us back home after our interview when my phone rings. I give it to Taylor and put it on speaker.

"I have a problem," I hear Alex says and I chuckle at her, already having an idea what it's going to be. "You want to have the get together at our place, because you guys are staying in hotels and we have a house here. Am I right?" I say and hear Alex chuckle on the other end of the phone.

"Duh, so is it alright with you guys?" She asks and Taylor nods her head. "Yeah, Janice. We'll see you soon," I say and hear her saying goodbye before the call ends.

"Are you excited for the season to start?" I hear Taylor ask. I smile and look over to her before focusing back on the road, "I am. The girls have been working hard and giving it their all, I think we might actually win," I say getting excited to play. "I know you'll win, pooka. And I'll be there cheering you on every step of the way," She says and smiles at me.

How the actual hell did I get so lucky?

"I love you," I say and take her hand in mine, giving her a quick kiss. "I love you too," She says and I can't help but smile. "So what do you think we'll need for tonight?" I ask her. "Maybe a few snacks and drinks. Try to keep it healthy though," She says and I nod my head.

So after we stopped to get the stuff we need we headed back home. I parked the car in the driveway and got out to open Taylor's door for her. "Thanks," She says and kisses my cheek. I smile and close the door. I took the bags out and walk into the house to be greeted by Scooby jumping on me. "Hey buddy," I say and pet him with my free hand.

I set the bags down on the kitchen counter and unpack everything. After I'm done I help Taylor clean the place up a bit, stealing kisses every now and then.

As I fold up the blanket I feel something collide with my side followed by Taylors cute giggle. I turn around and see her with a pillow in her hand with a very mischievous grin on her face.

"You're gonna get it now," I say and grab a pillow off the couch. I hit her with the pillow only to receive a hit back. She ran away, throwing the pillow at me. I ditch mine and run after her, "I'm gonna catch you!" I yell. "No you're not!" She yells back, running towards the beach, giggling all the way. I caught up to her and wrap my arms around her waist, spinning her around. She lets out a yelp and I laugh, setting her down gently. "Told you that I'd catch you," I whisper into her ear. "That you did," She says as she turns around in my arms, draping hers around my neck and play with the little hairs on my neck.

I melt into her touch and lean down kissing her.

"How is this whole thing going to work?" I ask and she gives me a confused look. "I mean with the season coming up. We live in LA and I'm playing in Utah." I say. "I have thought of that and I don't really know. I mean you can live with one of your team mates or something." I hum and think for a second. "Wait, what about you? Where are you going to live?" I ask her.

"I don't know. I'm still job hunting and I know I don't need one seeing as I was left quite a fortune when my dad died, but still. And I know you know how much I want to be an athletic trainer." She says when an idea pops in my head. "Okay, I know. We'll figure it out, we always do," I say and lean in to kiss her again only to be interrupted by Alex and Allie. "You guys make me want to puke," Allie says and I laugh at her. "You're just jealous," I say and go over to hug the two of them.

"Next time give us a warning that you have a gigantic dog waiting at the front door," Alex says making us laugh. "You have met Scoob before Al. On the beach remember? Or did you forget all about that?" I ask her with amusement. "Pfft no," She says and I raise an eyebrow. "Okay, it may have slipped my mind for a split second," She says and I hear Taylor giggle.

"Is the guys coming?" I ask them as we walk back to the house. "Yeah, they're coming a bit later," Allie says. "I'll go get us some drinks," Taylor says and kiss my cheek as she walks past me. I smile and look down to my feet. "I have never seen you this happy," Alex says and I look up to her. I nod my head, "She makes me so happy," I say with a dopey grin on my face. "When are you going to put a ring on that finger?" Allie asks, wiggling her eyebrows. I chuckle at her antics. "I have been thinking about it, but I don't know. I don't want to rush into anything." I say and take a seat on one of the porch swings.

"How long have you been dating again?" Alex asks. "Almost eight months," I say. "That's a pretty reasonable time, but it's your decision Kel." Alex says and I smile at her. "Thanks Al."

"Here you go ladies," Taylor says as she hands us our drinks. "Thanks baby," I say and lean in to kiss her. She smiles at me and sit next to me, placing her legs over mine.

"Just a fare warning. We're going to kick your butts," Allie says.

"In your dreams,"
"You wish," Alex and I say at the same time.

"I think we all know who's going to win," Alex says. "Yeah, Utah," I say and laugh at her expression. "Alright ladies, leave it for the scores to decide the winner," Taylor says. We all chuckle at her comment when the doorbell dings. "I got it," I say and stand up.

I walk to the front door and open it to reveal the guys, "Hey guys come in," I say and step aside to let them in. "Hey Kel," Serv says and gives me a hug. "Hey squirrel," Batti says and I give him a playful glare. "The girls are out back," I say and close the door.

"The party has arrived," I hear one of them say. "Oh dear god help us," The unmissable voice of Allie says. I just laugh and take my seat next to Taylor. "You guys have a killer view," Batti says and we chuckle at him. "Thanks," I say and finish off my drink.

"Do you guys want to take a walk on the beach?" Taylor asks. "Yeah lets do it," Alex says and we got up. "Scooby, c'mon boy," I yell and hear him running in the house. I pet him a he jumps on me and I walk over to grab his tennis ball off the ground, throwing it for him.

"Run like the wind Bullseye!" I hear Taylor yell as she jumps on my back. I chuckle and run towards the water. "Kelley no, no, no," I hear her say, tightening her grip around me. I laugh stopping knee high in the water.

"Kelley, Don't. You. Dare drop me," Taylor says and I loosen my grip on her. "Kelley n-" I threw her in the water before she could finish her sentence. "Oh you're gonna get it now," She says as she resurfaces. My eyes widen and I turn around to run away, but she got hold of my ankles and yanked them from under me. I fall flat on my ass and I hear Taylors giggle. I stand up and wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her back down with me. "Hi," I say from underneath her. "Hi," She says with her adorable smile that make my knees go weak with no fail.

"No PDA!" We hear Serv yell and we laugh as they walk closer to us. I look back towards Taylor with a smirk on my face. She nods her head and we splash the two couples with water. "Wormy my hair!" Alex yells and I laugh. "Wormy my hair," I mimic her. "You better run," Serv says and I nod my head, "Oh shit," I say as I take off trying to get away from her. "Get back here!" Alex yells and I chuckle at her.

"You won't catch me!" I yell looking over my shoulder not paying attention in front of me. Next thing I know something or rather someone takes my feet from underneath me and I face plant in the sand. I roll over to see the bunch of them laughing their asses off with Scooby licking my face.

"Scoob just tackled the shit out of you," Alex says, wiping the tears from her eyes as she laughs. "Dear god Scooby. You knocked the wind out of me," I say, joining in on the laughter. "You okay pooka?" Taylor asks stretching out her hand for me to take. "Yeah, I'm good," I say and dust of the sand.

"C'mon lets head back and get dried off," Taylor says and we nod making our way back to the house. Taylor takes my hand in hers and I smile at her. "I love you," She says and kiss my cheek.
