Chapter 8: Zora Princess

"Ryuu, this is _____, a close friend of mine. She's Link's younger sister." Sidon smiled as he introduced us.

"Hi _____! I'm Princess Ryuu, from a Zora palace far from here. I was told to come meet Prince Sidon and King Dorephan of the Zora's Domain in Hyrule. You guys have just such a well balanced kingdom!" Ryuu clasped her hands together and smiled. You heard footsteps running behind you and you turned around to see Link.

"Hey! Sorry I'm late."

"It's fine Link. I was just introducing these two." Sidon shrugged.

"Yeah about that, Sidon, a word?" Sidon nodded and followed Link up to the king's chambers. Leaving you with Ryuu.

"So, anyways, I hear you're a valued knight and sword forger across Hyrule?"

"Yep. And, if I may ask, is there work you need to have done here? I may be able to help if I can."

"Well, it's just tradition for the Zora Royals of our kingdom to meet the Zora Royals of this kingdom. And since this kingdom only has a prince, I was sent rather than my brother."

"Do you usually wind up... marrying the other royal?"

"In most cases yes. But sometimes the circumstances aren't right. But, in this case they seem to be. We'll see if we click."

"Oh, well I hope everything goes okay for you two."

"You don't look too well _____, maybe you should head home?"

"Well, I actually need to head up to East Reservoir Lake to do a couple things."

"Do you need me to come with you?"

"That's very kind of you, thank you, but I'll be fine." You waved to the princess and hurried off to East Reservoir Lake to find your zora friend, Kyri.

"Kyri!" You got to the room by the lake and saw the navy blue zora. She had differently shaped fins and a spikey tail. She was a unique zora, and the only female one who seemed to have no intention to get Prince Sidon to notice her.

"Oh hey _____! Did you meet Ryuu?"

"Wait, you knew she was here?"

"Everybody did. I met her before Sidon did and wow. I've never seen a zora so fancy."

"Well, apparently she's here to marry him!"

"That's not true. But wait, why do you sound so panicked?"

"I'm not panicked! What makes you think I sound panicked?"

"That. What's wrong, do you like Sidon?" She teased.

"Well I -"

"Wait, you like Sidon?" She laughed and started teasing you but paused. "Oh my goddesses, you like Sidon."

"Yeah. I know. I shouldn't but -"

"I'm gonna help you."

"Gonna help me what?"

"We're gonna get you Sidon."

"How?!"

"Okay, were gonna need to be sly but -"

"No! We are NOT killing Ryuu!"

"What? No! We aren't gonna kill her. We just have to get into Sidon's mind and change it."

"But how are we supposed to do that?"

"Watch and learn. But for right now, stay here. I'm gonna go talk to Sidon. I'll be back." Kyri ran off to find Sidon and you prayed to the Goddesses that she wouldn't say or do anything stupid.

Kyri's POV

I ran through the domain to find Sidon, and sure enough I almost ran into him as he was walking out of his father's chambers.

"Oh! Sidon, I'm sorry!"

"It's fine Kyri. I didn't see you coming, your so quick."

"Yeah, anyways I wanted to ask you about Princess Ryuu!"

"Ask away."

"Are you guys a couple?"

"No."

"Are you wanting to be a couple?"

"I -"

"Are you in love with Ryuu?"

"Kyri! Where are all these sudden questions coming from?!"

"Answering a question with a question?"

"Kyri!"

"Alright alright, I was just wondering if you had feelings for Ryuu. Now do you?"

"No, I don't."

"Are you in love with anyone?"

"Yes. It's not Ryuu, that's all I'm gonna say. But I have some work to do, so I'll see you later Kyri."

"Bye Sidon!"

I ran back to _____, and told her what I found out.

"What do you mean he likes someone else?" She looked at me confused.

"He said he likes someone else! Not Ryuu!"

"But that could mean ANYONE else! It could be my brother for all we know!"

"What? Ugh, no. Not Sidon and Link. They would not make a good couple. I thought Link would've been Sidon's brother in law anyways. That ship can go sink itself."
