Chapter 28: In this together

Hours later ~

You woke up in the same room you last remember: One of the rooms in the medic's hall.

The light coming from the window to the right of you was a sign it was likely the middle of the day. Could be late morning.

You looked to your left to see your husband sleeping on the chair. Didn't look too comfortable...

You gently pet his head, and got a quiet groan. His tail wagged slightly, and he opened his golden eyes slowly. You gave him a weak smile, and sighed.

"Hey honey..." You breathed out quietly as he pushed himself up from the chair and stretched out.

"Goodmorning, angelfish." He whispered, kissing your forehead. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, but what about the twins?" You asked, holding his hand. He sat back down, his hand not letting go of yours, and put his other hand on your cheek.

"I don't know, dear. They're all so busy and no one is telling me anything." You leaned into his hand, and he rubbed his thumb in circles gently on the palm of your right hand.

"Hopefully their okay... I couldn't live with myself if my life was saved at the cost of putting them at risk." Sidon hugged you, and you remembered what happened not too long before. The attack. Your brother and sister in law. Your other two children and your niece and nephew.

"Where is everyone?" You asked, almost not wanting to know. "Did the attack already happen?" Sidon sighed deeply, and instantly you wished you had waited to ask.

"Well, the attack happened not even an hour after you gave birth, and Link and Zelda had already rushed out. I had to meet with the other successors so we could get to the Divine Beasts and strike, but..." Another sigh. "The attack did nothing to Ganon. We don't know why."

"Where's Link and Zelda? And the kids?" You were trembling, and Sidon grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around you. He couldn't tell if you were scared or cold or both.

"Scarlett, Zippora, Zuko and Rhoam are all here. Their in Scarlett's room asleep. As for Link and Zelda, last I heard they were both trapped in the castle." You groaned and Sidon put his hand on your back and rubbed it gently.

"...How soon will I be able to get out there?" You asked after a long while of silence. Sidon had worried that you would ask, and he knew you would.

"In a few weeks, supposedly. Chelsi said you need to rest for a while. Just to be sure you're really okay dear." He hugged you tight (Well, not too tight) and didn't want to let go. You didn't want him too either, but you both knew the price you would all have to pay if Hyrule went without a hero.

*knock knock*

"Hey you two." Chelsi said after Sidon told her to come in. "How are you feeling _____?"

"Physically? I'm fine. Mentally? Worried and confused." Chelsi nodded, closing the door and went to sit down.

"How are the babies?" Sidon asked as he reached for your hand. You held his as tight as you could.

"Both are healthy. The first was a boy, and the second was a girl." Chelsi looked at her clipboard and you and Sidon both looked at each other with smiles and deep breaths of relief.

"Do you want me to get the other children in here?" She asked as she opened the door.

"Of course." You smiled and she went to get them. Sidon hugged you again and kissed all over your face. "S-Sidon!" You giggled and he stopped before giving you one last kiss on your lips.

"I'm just happy the three of you are okay." You smiled and after a few minutes the door opened again.

"Hey Scarlett." You patted a spot at the end of the bed and told her to come sit down.

"Your okay!" She sat down and hugged you, and you held her as she was almost crying in your arms. "Thank the goddesses."

Anyways I wrote this at like 6 AM and had over an hour to spare before school so I figured I could write. Didn't want to leave you on a cliffhanger too long.
