Chapter 8: The new long-term mission

Betty’s POV:

8 to 10 months was a lot for us, sometimes we would have to extend our period at missions depending on how it would go. We were looking at a year or more away from home. Working together, with no contact with our world. Jughead and I had never done a mission this long. We had done top 3 months, and that was with other agents like Reggie and Josie, Moose and Kevin, Valerie and Trev, ect. Bigger missions were always worked by more than 2 teams of agents. 

B- Charlie, that is a long period of time. 

J-  Not to mention that it's only us too, we have done longer missions , but they have been with partners. And we just came from a mission. We are quite exhausted.

C- I understand, you won’t leave right away, you will leave in a few days. But this is urgent. I wouldn't do this to you Betty unless it was a matter of life or death. I don't want things to get out of hand. 

B- I understand

J- What is our job in the case?

V- You will go as undercover investors in the Mafia. 

C- There's actually 2 of their investors who we were able to arrest before our agent went missing. They never made it to Monaco, and you will be posing as them. Sweet Pea has your new identities .

SP- You will pose as Jack and Schuyler Force, newlyweds. Jack is from Italy and that’s where your Italian comes in handy Jug and as for Betty, Schuyler is from France and that's where your French comes in. They both speak English between each other, that's what the other believes. It's good you speak French Cooper and Jones that you speak Italian. We are extremely lucky here. But I think other investors are British, mostly Greeks. And a lot of the meetings could be in English.

J- We have to pretend that we are married?

V- Yes Jughead

J- Oh Betts you will not like this

He whispered for me to hear

B- I hate you

I whispered back

J- So I have heard

V- Sweet Pea do you have the photos of the couple and all of their information?

SP- Yes boss, I already have the files Charles has emailed to me and they are printed, copies for both Jones and Cooper here you go.

He handed us the thick files, this would be a long mission.

B- Do we have to wear wigs or contacts to pretend to be this couple?

SP- Lucky for us, the Greek Mafia, nor the investors have actually met the Forces. They don't have social media, and are always careful of how they hide their identities. This will make it easy as cake. But you will do need to know everything about the Forces, these people know a lot about them. They all well know, they will talk about the things they have done, etc. You need to be ready and prepared.

J- Wow, this is unbelievable 

V- Honestly no kidding, although I kind of wish Jughead would of have to dye his hair another color.

B- That would be hilarious

J- Shut up

SP- Here's the bag with everything that you’ll need. The phones you will use to contact us, passports, cash already changed. It's a lot, don't think you will run out. In case you do, there's money hidden in compartments of your apartment. It will be a fancy penthouse. Your computers and other equipment will be at your apartment once you arrive. That goes for computers, other tech equipment, guns, weapons, etc. The keys and addresses of your penthouse are in this bag as well. When you arrive at the penthouse there will be closets full of clothing. From fancy designer ball gowns you will need for the exquisite parties. To a selection of the best designed tuxedos and suits. There will be the best designer handbags, shoes, accessories. The best of the best will be there this is unlike any other mission. You will need to look the part of these billionaires.

V- Betty this means you will need to make the best impressions with the most expensive outfits. You will need every lady to notice you and envy you, as well as get the eye of the men. To get you to gain intel from the wife's of the investors and be invited to hang around the men. Some of them will be investors as well and are not just trophy wives, and the men will always talk business around women. Or at least mention some important information. And Jughead you will need to look dashing to impress the ladies and be presented to their husbands.

C- Betty, Jughead I wouldn't give you this case if I didn't know you 2 can handle it. You are trained and have incredible talent for missions. Your partnerships and chemistry is impeccable when it comes to your work. You have excellent team work. And can handle any obstacle that comes your way. You need to have this mission, and after this I promise, I swear you will have time off. This mission is the biggest you have ever gotten. And not even the best of my men have gotten close to getting incriminating evidence. The files Sweet Pea provided for you have every piece of information and Intel we have been able to gather. From the names of all investors and their personal lives. That includes childhood, family relatives, schools, wifes, mistresses. Everything we have been able to learn about their lives and the lives of the people around them are in the files. The names of the countries they sell to, the countries they are in business with, etc. Everything is here, it will come useful, you can trust me on that.

V- Guys like Charles said, only you two can handle this mission. And it comes with great pay, considering everything that you will need to do. You are at great risk, being exposed so much. But you will be able to accomplish it, I can promise that.

C- Liz, what do you think?

B- I'll do it, there’s nothing that I enjoy more than being on a mission. As exhausting it can be, I live the adrenaline. And this mission will be different.

J- I'm in too, can not leave you alone in this Coop.

C- This mission is not like the others, you cannot rush this. Yes you will need to be prepared for everything, but the slower you handle this the more they will trust you. They need to see that you can be trusted. If they don't trust you, you are doomed. They could figure that you are not the real Forces. You will have days where you will just need to wait or study for the important dates. So I do recommend to pack the things you will need. And things you will enjoy, it can be from book, movies, old files you can use etc. Just don't over stress yourself,  this isn't a mission of who can finish fast. Please, please please don't rush. Take your time, you need your head cold. You need to rest, you need to think and be careful. 

V- I know you guys are used to rushing and getting done as fast as you can. Are you are great at it's you fond was to speed up the process. But the more time you are able to spend with these investors, the more they will trust you. And you need to learn as much as you can about the Forces. What they like, how they act, what are their relationships with these people. You need to be a build and hold conversations with these billionaires and not seem untrustworthy. 

J- We got it, we have had to infiltrate with billionaires before. We have learned a few of the things they talk about.

B- That's true, we have spent a long time reading on the things they like what they talk about. We are good at pretending to be one of them

C- That's amazing Liz, it comes in handy. This is why you guys are the best, you are dedicated and you do more than necessary. It will help you when things get hard.

J- We can do this Charles, you can trust us.

V- Well that's it 

J- Are the plain tickets there?

Jughead pointed to the bag

SP- Yes Jones, everything you will need is in there. What isn't there is at the apartment.

B- Perfect

C- That's for what you are doing

J- No problem

V- Well then guys, I'm heading back to my office.

SP- I will check on the reports form the others, I have things to do. So goodbye, it's nice working with you Charles.

C- I appreciate it Sweet Pea

J- I'm heading off too

B- I will see you at the party Jug.

J- Alright bye
