Chapter 5: Comfort

Jugheads POV:

I felt bad for Betty, I didn't like to see her like this. I had never seen her sad before, and I knew she was going to end up crying. She was already exhausted from the mission, she hadn't slept, she was stressed. And now this, she probably blames herself. I wanted and needed to be there for her, she needed someone. And I meant it when I said I would be there for her, we only had each other to rely on when we were working.

J- Betts?

B- Jughead I said I needed to go to the bathroom.

J- I know what you said, but Betty don't lie to me. I know how you must feel, especially with all the stress and the lack of sleep you have.

B- Jughead I'm fixing my makeup, I need to look better now that Im.. single... again.

I felt like I was being stabbed in the heart  when I heard her stutter and whisper that last part. She doesn't deserve this, Betty is the strongest person I know and nothing breaks her. This was certainly not going to be it, I wouldn't let it be.

J- Could you come out, please...

B- See I'm out, and I'm fine and I'm looking fabulous, don't you think so.

J-  Betty, that's not what I'm talking about , do you want to talk about it?

B- Jug I.. it's just, why me? Why can't a relationship work with me, is there something wrong with me? Or am I just expecting too much out of guys? Are they just all.. pigs?

She finally broke down in front of me, I couldn't think of anything else but to hug her and try to comfort her.

J- Betty there's absolutely  nothing wrong with you, you are amazing. You are just getting some bad guys, not all of them are bad, you will have someone who's great. You just need him to come to you, don't look for them. Let them work hard to get to you, you deserve the world.

B- Who are you and what have you done to my Jug?

She finally laughed, that's what I wanted.

J- Hey you might think that I'm a pain in the ass, but I'm pretty wise if I am allowed to say so myself. Plus I made you laugh, that's an accomplishment that I'll never forget.

B- Well you are pretty dumb, so I laugh at you, not with you. And this is honestly the sweetest thing you have said to me ever in the 2 years we have worked together

J- I will take it.

J- And hey this is the first time you have broken down in front of me.

B- Shut upppp!!!

J- You make me laugh Betts

B-I knowww

J- Wow

B- What?

J- This is straight out of a movie

B- What is?

J- Well we are hugging, while I'm comforting you, after you have discovered the truth about that cheating bastard.

B- Thanks for calling him that

J -Your welcome,  but you know what happens next in this fairy tale story?

B- Oh my dear , tell me what comes next in this fairy tale story.

J- Well after I comfort you, as your friend obviously after this.....

B- Woah woah woah, who said you are my friend??

She raised her eyebrow, it was hilarious

J- I said I am, don't interrupt me Betts. This is the part where you realize that I have been the one who you need to be with all along and then....

B- Let me guess, I fall in love with you

J- No no no, we fall in love with each other

B- Omg, you are so dumb,, but that was hilarious

J- Don't punch me

B- It was playfully

J- I don't think so and why aren't you taking me seriously

B- Because....  I'm not falling in love with you, dahhh

J- Not yet at least, there's more to me than what meets your eyes.

B- I think I see enough honey

J- Ouuuu...

B- What?

J- You started calling me honey,  this is a start

B- Of??

J- You falling in love with me

B- Never

J- Never say never...... who knows what will happen in the future
