Hayley's POV

I have been spending so much time with Skylar over the last few weeks that I realized I have been neglecting Tanya. Even though I am her best friend, I know she has other friends besides me so I didn't feel too bad about it at first but the more time passed the worse I felt. So I have been trying to spend as much time with Tanya as I can while still being able to be with Skylar as much as I can. One of the easiest ways to do this has been to hang out with her while Skylar is volunteering.

"Out of curiosity, have you ever been with a virgin before?" I ask Tanya curiously before taking a drink from my bottle of water.

She looks at me with a raised brow as I drink my water. "Skylar is a virgin?" she asks and I immediately start choking on my drink.

"What the fuck?" I ask when I regain the ability to breathe. "Who said anything about Skylar?" I ask and she gives me an incredulous look.

"Is Skylar not the girl you are seeing?" she asks and I shake my head.

"I'm not seeing anyone, and definitely not Skylar. I was only just asking a question," I say and she rolls her eyes.

"Don't lie to me, Hayley. You're a shitty liar," she says and I scoff.

"I am an excellent liar," I say and she shakes her head.

"Not when it comes to me. I know you too well. So are you going to admit that you have been seeing Skylar or are you just going to attempt to lie again?" she asks and I silently look at her for a moment.

"I... I'm not..." I start to say before groaning. "How the fuck did you know?" I ask and she laughs.

"Do you think I'm an idiot? You don't think I can see the way you have been looking at her for the last three weeks? Skylar came to me because she was questioning her sexuality and even admitted to having kissed a girl. I didn't think that girl was you at first but it quickly became obvious when you two started hanging around each other again. You are obviously trying to hide it but the way you act around one another is still pretty telling," she says with a small laugh. "Also, neither of you ever seem to be available to hang out after school. The only time you ever are available is like right now when Skylar is volunteering at the hospital," she finishes and I just silently stare at her for a moment, not knowing what to say. "Why all the secrecy?" she asks curiously and I sigh.

"I don't know..." I say with a frown. "I thought about telling you after the first time she and I kissed but I didn't think it was going to go anywhere and honestly I didn't want you to judge me or anything... When it did start going somewhere, I seriously wanted to tell you, but I didn't know if Skylar would be okay with that," I say and she nods her head.

I have no idea how Skylar feels about telling people we have been seeing each other. I really don't think Skylar would have too much trouble with coming out if she were to come out as something. She doesn't really care what random people think of her and I highly doubt she has to worry about her father not accepting her. But she is still questioning her sexuality in general so the whole coming out thing seems kind of pointless right now. That said, even if she doesn't have any idea what she is, we are still seeing each other. At some point if things do become more serious between us, I would like to have the ability to tell people about us.

"So you two are seriously dating?" she asks and I run a hand through my hair.

"I don't really know," I say honestly. "We like each other but we haven't really defined anything or had the where are things going talk yet. It's really only been a few weeks since we started this," I say and she looks at me with a raised brow.
