Book 2 - Chapter 3
Skylar's POV"Hey," Tanya says as she catches up to me after work. "You got any plans tonight or are you free to hang out? I just heard they were showing my favorite movie at the revival house downtown and was wondering if you like to join me," she says and I smile.
"Sure. What movie are they showing?" I ask curiously.
"The Princess Bride."
"Oh, I love that movie too," I say and she smiles brightly.
"Awesome. It will be even more fun then. You want me to pick you up or would you rather just meet there?" she asks and I shrug.
"Sure you can pick me up. It will save my car some gas," I joke horribly but she still laughs a little.
"Okay cool. I'll come by your place at around seven-thirty then and we can head out together," she says and I nod my head in acknowledgment.
"Sounds good," I say and she smiles at me before saying goodbye and heading to her car.
I watch her leave for a second before finally heading to my car with a sigh. I still haven't found a way to tell her I'm just interested in being her friend and nothing more. I know Hayley said it was best to make it clear but I don't really know how to do it. Even if I didn't have to worry about hurting her feelings by telling her, doing so would still at the very least be incredibly awkward.

The night went great. We had an amazing time together watching the movie, eating popcorn, and drinking a ton of wine from the revival house's bar. We ended up drinking so much that we decided it best to take a cab back to my place because even though we weren't totally wasted, we definitely were both too drunk to drive.
"Go sit on the couch and I will get started on the coffee," I say to Tanya and she nods her head before heading over towards the couch.
I walk into the kitchen and start a pot of coffee. When it's done I grab two mugs from the cabinet to pour it in. I walk back into the living room and hand Tanya one of the mugs before sitting down next to her.
"Thanks," she says as she takes the cup from me and blows on it before taking a sip. "This was so fun. I really needed this," Tanya says as she puts her mug down on the coffee table in front of her.
"This was real nice, thanks for inviting me out," I say with a smile and she smiles back at me.
"Thanks for agreeing to come. Over the last week or two I thought you were upset with me for some reason," she says and I shake my head as I put my cup down on the coffee table as well.
"I'm not upset with you," I say honestly and her smile grows.
"Good. I'm glad, because I really like you," she says and I smile at her a little.
"I like you too. You are a good friend," I say and her smile starts to fade a bit.
"Just a friend, huh?" she asks a little quietly, causing me to frown.
"I mean, that's what we are right? Friends?" I ask and she nods her head.
"Yeah, we are friends," she says with another smile. "And as my friend, you think it would be cool if I crashed on your couch tonight? I'm pretty drunk right now and don't really want to have to call another cab home," she says and I nod my head.
"Sure, I can even get you a change of clothes if you want," I say and she smiles.
"You're the best," she says and I smile.
