Hello, fellow Fanders!

I'm sorry I didn't update last week. I tried. But the words just wouldn't word. I'M SORRY.

WARNINGS : Swearing, I think that's it?

"Alright, as Miss Srithi so rightly said, the denominator in this case would be equal to-" Virgil squinted at the board, his stomach in turmoil.

To his surprise, he'd actually been following the teacher up until her second line of working. But now she was halfway through the third, and Virgil was utterly lost. He shot a glance over at Ray, who was sitting across the row from him. The dark haired youth was chewing his lip anxiously, his pencil moving at the speed of light as he tried to follow the calculation.

Virgil glanced back at the board and bit back a groan; three lines had turned into four. He'd just take a picture of it after class. What else could he do by this point?

To be honest, the only reason he'd gotten this far was the fact that Logan tutored him last night. It had been really really great, and not just because he got to stare at Logan without being called out, he'd actually learned something by the end of it too. Maybe Logan was just that amazing.

He probably would've learned a lot more if it weren't for the fact that Virgil had noticed something new about Logan; he held his pencil with his thumb crossed over his fingers.

Virgil had no idea why he'd picked up this particular detail. It was so random, so miniscule, a minutiae of Logan... But he'd still noticed it. Virgil didn't particularly mind, it just gave him something else to smile at when in Logan's presence. Not that he actually smiled though, Logan would probably think he's crazy if he caught Virgil staring at his fingers. But still. It's Logan.

Virgil shifted his glance off the board and to his own pencil. He shifted his thumb, and almost dropped it immediately.

How does he do this?

He shot a glance over at Logan - who sat at the desk behind Ray - to confirm he was doing it correctly. Apparently he was. Or he would be, if the pencil was still actually in his grip. Virgil felt his leg shake as he started tapping his foot, and tried again. This time he managed to hold it, but it still felt increasingly shaky. He sighed, before turning back to the board.

For a moment he worried if Ms Rolt had rubbed her working away already, but luckily she'd just shifted to a different side of the board. He wasn't going anywhere for another half hour, so he may as well pay attention.

Virgil bit his lip as he concentrated, trying to understand what the teacher was doing.

I'm never going to get this, am I.

...

Logan sighed as he scanned his work, checking to see if it was identical to the teachers. The way they wrote formulas varied here and there, but they were the same in essence. His eyes kept flitting to the black and purple blob in the corner of his vision, but he kept himself from looking.

Logan was not accustomed to crushes. Well, that was putting it lightly. He thinks that he's had crushes before, but he honestly can't tell. He's not sure whether it's the same for everyone who's asexual, but... yeah. It was mainly just the fact that he thought they were really nice, and enjoyed being in their presence. It was the same with his friends, but sort of... intensified. Like the sun through a magnifying glass.

Regardless, Logan was a mess. Well, not really. He'd read books with romantic subplots filled with butterflies in stomachs and blushing too much to look at someone, but for Logan it was more like watching Virgil and feeling at peace, or maybe actively seeking out ways to make the other boy blush.
