Hello, fellow fanders!

Usually I would talk about something here, but like, I have no ideas. Whatsoever. Complete mind blank. So just be mindful of the warnings and enjoy the chapter!

WARNINGS : Mention of strict parents (is this triggering to anyone?), mental illness, medication, arguing between parental figures... I think that's it? Maybe? Please tell me if it's not, I don't want anyone getting hurt.

Logan's teeth worried his bottom lip as he glace darted from his phone screen to the clock on the wall. His parents were always frighteningly punctual, and so he'd already combed his hair, been to the bathroom, and checked there was nothing between his teeth about four times.

Their dorm seemed unsettlingly still without Virgil filling the air with his continual muttering and subconscious humming. The brown eyed boy was currently in Patton and Roman's dorm room, raiding their fridge as Patton had earlier promised. Prior to his departure he'd fussed over Logan; a medley of 'Do you need me to get anything?'s and 'Are you sure you'll be fine on your own?'s. Logan had simply smiled, stated that while they weren't on the best terms, they were still his parents, and Logan had no qualms about talking to them.

Virgil had shot him a quietly encouraging smile as slid the door shut behind him, embedding Logan's chest with a feeling of gratitude for the amazing person fate had thrown him with. Logan's eyes slitted to the clock. Only a minute left...

He stood, checked his hair again, and then sat back down at his desk. He positioned his laptop in front of him, skype open, waiting for his parents to connect. A few moments later their slightly pixelated faces flooded the screen, and Logan felt a small warmth blossom in his chest.

"Hi, mum. Dad." His mother's grin gleamed, and his father let out a small chuckle.

"Hello, Logan, sweetheart! How are you doing?"

They chatted peacefully for a few minutes, bland yet comforting topics of conversation flowing easily between the parents and their son, before a flash of yellow shot across the screen and a small ball of energy flung herself onto her parents laps. His father let out a small oof as Jenna scrambled, adjusting herself in an effort to see her oldest brother.

"Lolo!" she squealed, resting her chubby palms on the desk between them. "Hi, Lolo!" Logan chuckled at the sight of his sister, and at the wince her volume drew out from their parents. She tilted her head to the side, pouting. "I missed you!"

Logan let out a slightly damp sounding chuckle.

"I missed you too, Jen."

"Daddy said you're at a special school, but when I go to school I always come back."
"I know, Jen. Mum explained this to you earlier, remember? I go to a boarding school, meaning I get to live here. Think of it like a suuuuuper long sleepover, okay?"
"Okay! But I still miss you."

"Honey, Logan's not feeling well. He goes to a special school to get better, okay?" The words unsettled something inside Logan. He knew his mum had gone through the same thing, and he knew that his dad was supportive to a reasonable extent, but it didn't change the fact that the words made him distinctly other.

"Oh no!" whined Jenna. "Can he get better later? I wanna show him my friends."
"I'll be back soon, alright, Jem. And when I get back, we can paint together." Jemma's face lit up.
"In your room?"
"In my room." she grinned, the prospect of spending time with her brother making her glow. Logan watched melancholically as his parents sent her out of the room gently, promising her that they would talk to Logan later.
