Hello, fellow fanders!

So, the holidays are starting and I've finally planned out where this story is going, because the original plot didn't account for a lot of things and was overall very bad. And now because we have a small thingy coming up, I have renewed enthusiasm in this story! It wasn't like I was going to abandon it, but it was like my inspiration was stuck between a rock and a hard place, y'know? So hopefully I can pump out a few chapters over the holidays!

On a side note, today we had like a secret santa thing at school and I got chocolates, they were those roasted almond ones that are coated in chocolate, and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. But the thing is I've drastically cut down on my sugar intake this year in an attempt to improve my lifestyle, and today I ate like, almost 100 grams of chocolate. And my stomach is killing meeeeeeee. I think it's gotten used to only having it in moderation. And so now I am scared to touch more chocolate.

And guess what? To rub salt in the wound, we had a debate final today, and while my team won, which was great, guess what we got as a prize? MORE CHOCOLATE. I've handed it all over to my mother to try and control my intake of it, but chances are it'll all be gone by the end of the week. I'm gonna die from chocolate overdose.

Anyway, this chapter is mainly fluff, no plot shenanigans, so enjoy! Pretty sure there are no warnings, apart from the occasional swear word, but I've realised that that doesn't actually trigger people, usually, so enjoy the chapter I guess!

"Virgil, you've gotta hurry! I told her I'd be there at eleven!" Patton whined from Virgil's bed, the emo rolling his eyes in response. He was standing in front of his dresser as he added the finishing touches to his makeup while Logan got dressed in the bathroom. He spared a glance down at his phone; it was half past nine.

"Pat, relax. We'll get there in time." The baker huffer, collapsing back to lean on his boyfriend, who was watching something on his phone.

"I guess," he grumbled, shifting. "But that doesn't change the fact you guys are taking ages."
"Say what you will, Patton. But not everyone can get ready in 6 minutes." said Logan as he stepped out of the bathroom. Virgil wiped a small smudge of eyeliner away before leaning back. Not the best cat-eye, but it would have to do. He watched Logan in the mirror as he packed away his kit.

Today the winter chill was starting to set in, and Logan had dressed appropriately. Jeans tucked into ankle boots, a blue sweater vest and a grey jacket on top. He was tucking his scarf into his collar when Roman turned his attention to his outfit.

"Why is it you dress more casually when we're going out than during school?" asked Roman with a raised brow. "You do realise you'd have a lot more friends if you looked like this daily." Virgil looked down into his makeup bag. A small part of him was glad that Logan didn't have many friends, it meant that Virgil had him almost entirely to himself. He then realised how creepy that was, and saw his cheeks flush red.

"I prefer having a small group of friends, and it's bold of you to question my fashion decisions, Mr I'm-gonna-wear-a-different-costume-every-week-of-October." Roman flushed.
"It's not like I actually did it!"
"Even worse, you didn't stick to your word." Virgil piped in before zipping up his hoodie. Patton giggled over his boyfriend's affronted gasp, before jumping up.

"Alrighty then, can we leave now?" He looked between Logan and Virgil hopefully, and let out a happy noise when they nodded. He grabbed his boyfriends hand and tugged him to the door, muttering about Aniya and a 'secret cookie recipe.'

It had been many weeks since the group's first visit to the small township, and over them Patton had formed a sound bond with the friendly baker who's cat Virgil had pet. Aniya had even gone so far as to start calling Patton her apprentice, and often spoiled the group when the boy popped in to visit. After Patton had shared his mother's famous peanut-butter-and-jelly muffin recipe, Aniya had finally agreed to teach Patton how to bake her gingerbread cookies.
