Chapter 5

Jo's pov

I get ready for school deciding to put a little extra make up than usual and curl my hair. I look in the mirror and can't help but smile I look older and more sexier with my dark smokey eyeshadow. "Let's go Jo my main hoe" Mercy yells barging in my room as I'm putting my black boots on. "Stop calling me that" I smack her arm playfully. She looks at me realizing I have make up on she shrieks saying "Oh my god babe you look hot." "Thanks babe come on we got time to add a little more on you" I say pulling her to my vanity I quickly add a smokey eye effect and let her out some black liquid liner and mascara on. She looks at herself in the mirror and smiles saying "Ok I could get used to this." "Girls your going to be late" my dad yells up to us. "Let's go sis don't forget we have tell the student council about our plan for the kissing booth for the fall carnival" I tell her. "Ugghh we only have two weeks to get this done so they better approve it because all the other cool shit is already taken" she says. We head down grabbing our book bags and head to Mercy's car she got a vintage convertible mustang on our 16th birthday and we lost it when her parents pulled it up to the driveway. I was disappointed for a second that no car was waiting for me but my happiness for Mercy over shadowed after all rule # 10 always be happy for your besties successes. We drive to school blasting Lizzo's truth hurts singing along and laughing as we park the car. I sing out "I don't play tag bitch I been it, we don't play with lies, we don't do goodbyes, we just keep it pushing like aye ye ye" as I bop my head to the music. The song ends and Mercy and I both bust out laughing as she says "I forget how good you sing sometimes." "Oh please that was nothing" I say brushing her off. All of a sudden Felix and Hero make their way over to the car as we are getting out Felix says "good morning my ladies" as  he bows down to us. Me and Mercy look at each other and giggle as Felix looks around like he's embarrassed he just did that. "Morning good sir" Mercy says to him making him blush. Then Hero looks over at me he's dressed in his school uniform but his tie is loose showing the top of his chest. He stares at me  up and down and then looks at Mercy and says "why you all dolled up for?" "Because we wanted too" I say crossing my arms getting annoyed. "Well look at you sexy" says a voice behind the boys I glance around Hero whose scowling and see Chase walking over. "Hey Chase" I say giggling and twirling my hair. Hero and Felix just stand there so I continue my conversation with Chase asking him "do you have anyone that Mercy can go with Friday?" I see Hero's jaw clench and Felix look annoyed but i ignore them. Chase looks at Mercy and says "yeah Noah's been trying to get with her since Freshman year." Omg Noah freaking Flynn I am so happy for my bestie. Clearly she feels the same way since she shrieks saying "Oh most deff here give him my number" she says scribbling her number down and passing it to Chase. "Well we need to get to class and the student council meeting so I'll see you at lunch" I say to Chase he tries to come in for a kiss but I turn my head and give him a quick hug. I notice Hero smirk and I just shrug it off and head with Mercy to class. We get through gym which sucked because we had to play volleyball which I hate. We quickly shower and change and then head to the student council meeting. Each group has their captain in attendance. Since me and Mercy are co-captains of the dance team we attend the meetings together. After the swim team picks the dunk booth, the chest team picks the weight bell, the cheer team picks the fish game where you toss the rings and win a fish, the basketball team picks the basketball game, and the soccer team picks the hardest kick into the net game. So many of what they picked was based off of what they already do it was so cliche they probably thought me and Mercy where going to suggest a DDR game or something to do with dance.  It was finally our turn and I prepared a speech. "So this is our idea guys please don't judge until you hear us out" I say and then Mercy yells out "Kissing booth yeah we want to do a kissing booth." I throw my notes in the air so much for that speech and stare around at the people before us. A few of them have smiles except the chess player and the math team captain who looked disgusted. "Can I just say how many germs you can catch from a simple kiss" the chess player I think his name is Dan says. I speak up saying "it will all be entirely consensual and of course no tongue" I plead with them. "Will FT be doing the booth" says Mia the cheer captain. "My brother yeah right" Mercy says and I smack her saying "we have a lot of hot guys and girls in mind don't worry and yes FT will be there." She giggles and we all vote  and thankfully the majority wins we will have our kissing booth this should be interesting. We head to lunch and Hero and Felix are at me and Mercy's table shit I forget they are on the soccer team there captain Valand must of told them about our fundraiser idea. We grab our food and head over to our table "what do you guys want?" I ask them sitting down. "Seriously a freaking kissing booth" Hero says scowling. "Yes what's your damn problem it's a fundraiser" Mercy spits back. "You two will not be kissing anyone" he says with venom in his voice. "That's what you think" I yell at him. He just stares at me and Felix says "whatever I'm over this conversation" and stalks off looking defeated Hero jumps up chasing after him yelling "wait up bruv." "What the fuck is with those two lately?" I ask Mercy "who fucking knows but I do like Felix I just don't want to deal with Hero's shit about liking his best mate" she admits to me. Should I tell her I feel the same way about Hero. No it will never happen I'm not even Hero's type he goes for sluttier easy girls. I'll just keep that side of me locked away.
