Chapter 34

Jo's pov

I was upset last night after me and Mercy went to the bathroom and we overheard some girl tell her friend how Hero was leaving soon for training at Harvard and she wondered if he would leave me too. After I asked him what was wrong and he didn't tell me the truth I was so pissed and lashed out at him. Once me and Mercy got my bag from the limo and got to the room I started to ball my eyes out as she held me tight crying with me. She told me she had no idea not even her parents had told her anything about it. Once Hero got in the room and I realized how hard this must of been for him. He knows how I am he is absolutely right I would of forced him to go either way. I know that's the reason he didn't tell me but it still hurt that he kept something like that from me. I just hope he learned his lesson and never keeps secrets from me again. After we woke up in the hotel room Hero sang Happy birthday to me as he had a breakfast spread out with a little chocolate cake. "Cake for breakfast my Hero" I say teasingly biting into the moist cake as I moan. "Stop doing that baby" Hero says biting his lip as he wipes some frosting off my lips and licks his finger. "You need to eat real food" he says watching me as I devour the cake smiling at him. "This is real food" I say grabbing my clothes as I get dressed. "We need to get going though me and Mercy have to grab the costumes from the store" I tell him as he groans and gets dressed. "I can't believe your making me wear a cape and tights" he says groaning. "After last night your lucky I didn't strangle you with those tights mister" I say giggling at him. "Your right love I'd do anything for you" he says giving me a kiss. "I'd do anything for you too" I tell him grinning as he smacks my ass making me yelp. Just then we get a knock on the hotel door as I open it Mercy and Felix come walking in. "You guys good then mate" Felix asks Hero. "I'm still standing here right" he says chuckling. Mercy rolls her eyes making me giggle as she says "your lucky your my brother. I was left out too no one told me you were leaving right after graduation" Mercy says tearing up. "I'm sorry Mercy I didn't want people to know I was trying to get out of it" he says sighing. "Felix knew and he didn't even tell me" she says glaring at Felix. "Baby I thought we were past that I can't tell you everything that Hero says just like you can't tell me everything about Jo" he says frustratedly. "I know ok I'm still mad though" she says irritably. "It's our birthday turn that frown upside down sis" I say putting my arm around her. The guys grab our bags as we make our way down on the elevators joking and laughing. "I can't believe they put the kissing booth in the memory lane" Mercy says happily. "I know it was crazy" I say timidly. I wish I didn't find out the news about Hero right before we saw the tribute our classmates did for us. It kind of dampened the moment for me. Especially after I saw Hero's face when I said we needed space I'll never forget how heartbroken he looked in that moment. "Bruv what do we do if we get a wedgie from these damn tights" Felix asks Hero making me and Mercy burst out laughing. "Come on you guys used to dress up as superheroes all the time" I say teasingly as we get into the Uber. "Yeah when we were 7 love things have grown down there" Hero whispers in my ear making me giggle. We have the Uber take us to the costume store and then once we get back to Mercy and Hero's house we see it all decorated for our party. Mercy and Felix are going as Supergirl and Superman and Me and Hero are going as Batman and Batwoman. "Come on baby girl we got a surprise for you and Mercy" Hero says leading us into the house. "Oh great your all here. How was the dance?" Martha asks us. "It was fine mum" Hero says timidly. I give him a small smile as his mom looks at us worriedly. "We had so much fun" Mercy pipes in as Martha smiles at her. "I can't believe you girls are 17 today it feels like just yesterday me and Liz were taking you home from hospital" she says tearing up. "Awwe mum don't start crying" Hero says sadly. "Yeah mom we love you and me and Jo will always be your little girls ok" Mercy tells her grabbing her in for a hug as I walk over with her smiling at me and she wraps her other arm around me holding us both tightly. "Martha don't suffocate them love come on the boys want to give the girls their surprise" George says walking in the room. "Oh yes let's go" Martha says excitedly as Hero chuckles and grabs my hand leading us out into the garage I see a big red bow tied around his Harley. "Your getting rid of her?" I ask him sadly. "Sort of. Well I was hoping you'd keep her safe for me love" he says nervously scratching the back of his head. "Seriously I don't know how to ride it though" I say nervous but excited at the thought of me being in control of the motorcycle on the wide open road with the wind roaring past me. "Jo you have to give me a ride on it. Hero wouldn't let me" Mercy says glaring at her brother. "I'll teach you how to ride it love" Hero says smiling at me. "So this was more of a surprise for Jo then" Mercy asks curiously looking around. My mouth drops as I see Felix pull out a small black box. I look up at Hero to see him grinning as Felix taps Mercy on her shoulder. "What Felix?" she says annoyed as she turns around and then she gasps as he shows her the black box. "Surprise" he says nervously. "What? Are you sure? I don't think" Mercy starts rambling until Felix cuts her off opening the box revealing a rose gold ring with a small diamond on it as she stares at it in awe. "Jo has a promise ring and so should you Mercy because I love you and I want that commitment with you one day" Felix says sliding the ring on her finger. "Felix it's beautiful" she says tearing up. "Your beautiful" he says leaning in and giving her a small kiss. "You guys are so adorable" Martha says smiling at us. "Love we need to let the kids get ready for later and we have to grab a few things still" George says smiling at Martha. "Happy birthday my girls" she says adoringly. "Happy birthday sweet hearts" George says to us leading Martha out of the garage. "Let me see" I say to Mercy excitedly grabbing her hand and admiring her ring. "Oh shit bruv we can have a double wedding" Felix says excitedly smacking Hero on his arm. "Fucking wanker that hurt" Hero groans rubbing his arm. "A double wedding?" Mercy asks nervously. "Not anytime soon but wouldn't that be awesome" Felix says to her. "It would be fantastic" she says smiling at him. "Ok enough sappy shit let's get ready to party" Hero says chuckling. I reach over and run my hand over his wait correction now my Harley as I smile remembering all the great times we had on her. "Hop on love" Hero says smirking at me. "Ok" I say timidly sliding on to the bike as my hands grip the handles. "I'm too short" I say nervously laughing. "You are not" Mercy says giggling. "Let's just see if you can get it started yeah" Hero says smiling at me. I nod my head excitedly as he shows me how to jump start the bike. "I can't do it" I say giggling as I try for the fourth time. "Come on sis you have to get this so you can take me for a ride" Mercy says pleadingly. "Come on JoJo it's easy" Felix says making me glare at him as Mercy nudges him in the ribs. "You got this love" Hero says adoringly as I try again this time the bike roaring to life underneath me. "Yes" me and Mercy shriek  together as we all burst out laughing. "Come on we should eat and then get ready for the party" Mercy says as Hero turns the key shutting the bike off. "Who did you lot invite anyways" Hero asks us. "Just some friends from school" I tell him excitedly. We make our way to the kitchen and eat some sandwiches and chips while we talk about random things. We all head upstairs afterwards and start getting ready for the party. "Help me zip this up" I tell Mercy as I turn around and she zips the back of my black satin dress with a gold batwoman logo on the front. "You look gorgeous sis" she says excitedly. I help her zip up her red, yellow and blue dress the Supergirl logo on the front. After we do our hair and makeup we slip on our shoes and go out to Hero's door as I knock on his door I hear him say "come in baby girl." We go into his room and I can't help but laugh at how funny Felix looks as he groans and keeps pulling on his tights. "Oi these things are fucking annoying" Hero says making me and Mercy laugh even louder. "Your bloody lucky we love you girls" Hero says smirking at me. "Damn lucky" Felix groans. Hero pulls me in for a kiss and Felix does the same with Mercy. "Ready to party love" Hero asks me. "More than ready" I say excitedly. We head downstairs and are greeted by all our friends dressed up in their costumes. "Happy birthday bitches" Inanna says dressed up as sexy cop. "Thanks babe" me and Mercy tell her giving her a hug. I notice a handsome guy near her dressed as a jailbird as I give her a smirk she introduces him to us as her boyfriend Matt. "Girls come on so we can sing Happy birthday and then let you guys have a good time with your friends" my mom says as her and my dad gather everyone around the table our cake is huge and beautiful. We always share a cake at our parties it's our thing. "All right everyone let's sing Happy birthday to Jo and Mercy" George says excitedly as Martha and my mom light our candles. Hero stands behind me holding my shoulders as everyone starts to sing Happy birthday. "Happy birthday dear Jo and Mercy, Happy birthday to you's" they all finish. "Make a wish love" Hero whispers in my ear. I look at Mercy smiling as we blow out our candles together as everyone claps. "So what did you wish for?" Felix asks Mercy. "Nope sorry only Jo can know that" she says smiling at him. She whispers in my ear "I wished we could always be this happy." "So what did you wish for?" she asks me excitedly. "Nothing I already have everything I want" I say smiling at her. "Ok we love you girls we are going over Liz and Stephen's for the night so be safe" Martha says to us. "No love for me then" Hero says pouting. "We love you too son" George says chuckling. "We love you guys be good ok" my mom says giving us a hug. "Happy birthday my little princesses" my dad says smiling at us as he gives me and Mercy each a kiss on our cheeks. After our parents leave we turn up the music and Hero and Felix grab the bottles of patron, vodka and beer. After we all drink, eat and dance while I'm dancing with Hero I see Tuppin come walking over dressed as a dinosaur as he struggles to move his legs the inflatable costume towering on him. "Thank fuck you didn't make me wear that" Hero says chuckling. "Hey thanks for having a costume party Jo and Mercy it gave me an excuse to wear this $90 piece again from Halloween" Tuppin says laughing. "Sure no problem" I say giggling. "Yo let's do shots" Felix says as he pours us each one. "Are you ladies opening your gifts tonight?" Noah asks us as him and Elle dance near us. "Nah we always do them the next day" I tell him. "This party is awesome" Elle says giggling. "Yo Hero you ready man?" Sam asks as he comes up to us with his guitar. "Ready for what?" I look up at him his green eyes sparkling in the moonlight as he smiles down at me saying "you'll see." He gives me a kiss and walks over to the d.j booth as he grabs the mic the music gets cut off. "Hey everyone as you all know last night at prom it wasn't the best for me and Jo. But through everything we always find a way to make it work. I know I'm not the singer in this relationship but I wrote a little something special for my girl" he says smiling at me as Sam sits next to him he starts to play his guitar and Hero sings "Growing up with this beautiful girl, she has shown me the whole world, every hour, every second, every minute, I want her in it. She's my heart, she's my life, she's everything, she will be my wife. All I want to do is make a home with you, make a home with you, and all my life I promise too be a home for you, be a home for you." He finishes the song as tears are pouring down my face everyone is cheering around us as I run into his arms and he picks me up crashing his lips to mine. "That was so beautiful Hero" I say smiling as he wipes my tears off my cheek. "You will marry me one day won't you?" he asks me sincerely. "One day" I say smiling at him as our lips connect again. "Best birthday ever" Mercy says giddily as her and Felix stumble over to us. "By far" I say smiling at her. We say goodnight to our guests and make our way upstairs. "Let's go daddy" Mercy says to Felix making Hero groan as he rolls his eyes and I giggle pulling his hand as we go into his room. "I really hate when she does that" he says aggravatedly as he takes his costume off leaving just his boxers on. "Oh come on don't be such a baby" I tease him as I turn around so he can help me unzip my dress. "I'm not but It's just irks me" he says as he slides my zipper down. "Are we going to talk about your sister all night or are you going to make love to me?" I ask him seriously as I push him back on to his bed. "Fuck the things you do to me" he groans as I rip his boxers off. "Every hour, every second, every minute, I want you in it" I sing part of his song for me back to him. "Gosh your voice is so much better than mines" he chuckles as I slide my panties down. "Your voice isn't that bad" I say smiling at him. "Oh really" he says as he takes my hand and pulls me towards him. "Ok maybe you were off key a little but it's the lyrics that matter. I can't believe you wrote that for me" I say adoringly. "I love you Jo always have and always will" he says sincerely. We start to kiss passionately as our tongues collide. If I only have a week left with him I am for damn sure not wasting a second of it. We don't take long before he is thrusting his large dick inside me as my nails dig into his back. "Oh God Hero" I moan. But I thought you had to leave right after graduation" I ask him confused. "I called the coach I told him I didn't need anytime to settle in. I'd much rather be here with you" he says giving me a chaste kiss. "Are you sure? You aren't going to know anyone or your way around" I say nervously. "Do you want me to leave early then?" he says irritably. "No shit, I didn't mean it like that I'm sorry. I'm so happy I get to be with you for another month" I say sincerely giving him a kiss as I lay my head on his chest. "Good because I don't want to spend any time away from you if I can help it" he says seriously. "I love you Hero" I say smiling as he rubs my back his arm wrapped around me. "I love you Jo so damn much it hurts sometimes" he says smiling down at me. I am so beyond happy that he doesn't have to leave as soon as I thought he was. I just pray that when he does leave I can handle it. I fall asleep listening to the steady rhythm of the man I loves heart.
