"Aunt, what happened?"

Aunt Kelly was crying with tons of tissues around her, while Uncle tried to comfort her. William and I just came from the park to see this.

"Oh, sweetie, Cherry isn't doing so well," she sniffed while saying that.

Aunt Cherry was Aunt Kelly's elder sister and had some issues with her health from what Aunt told me. They also lived in Upland when we were back there but had moved to Texas for treatment purposes.

"How's she now?" I asked.

"She fainted last night and the doctors were saying she needs to have a surgery immediately, I-I need to go see her," Aunt said standing up and taking another tissue.

"You guys will be alright, right?" Aunt asked.

Uncle and I glanced at each other having an inner battle within ourselves but we both loved Aunt a lot. That meant consideration.

"We will be Kelly, you go ahead and take care of your sister and yourself," Uncle said.

"Yes Aunt, please give her love from us," I said as Aunt hugged both of us while we glared at each other when she was not looking.

"Well, I should get going and pack my bags," Aunt sighed.

William and I walked down the sidewalk to school which still had a lot of time to start. Aunt had caught today's flight in the very morning and departed after crying and hugging me for a long time. She was worried I would become a skeleton when she next sees me and warned Uncle about it. Oh, my dear Aunt Kelly.

"Why's your Uncle like that?" William asked indicating to Uncle's attitude towards me.

"If only I knew. It's probably 'cause Aunt loves me more," I sighed as we walked with our hands entwined. William laughed at that.

"Can be, actually."

"Hey, I might go and finish up my Biology project today."

"Oh, yeah? Is your partner a boy?"

"Stop with it, it's not and I'm sure she's not bisexual," I said laughing at him.

He glared at me, trying to make an angry face, "I should have never told you that."

I planted a small kiss and made my way to school while William just stood there for some time. I wish he could stay but Aristotle and Trixie were alone at home and surely Uncle didn't give a damn about them.

I proceeded to walk along the school ground when, suddenly a beep caught me off-guard as I quickly looked back to see William blowing kisses.

Ah, my poor heart.

Britney didn't come to school. Just great. And to top it, I didn't have her phone number. That meant talking to her friends and asking for her number.

Mikayla and Jaxon awaited for me in the campus freeway. They both clearly liked each other but Mikayla wanted to go slow. No blame there.

As for Elijah, he was on house arrest after his dad managed to pay off some police. But Mikayla's dad held back and Britney's statement got him in more trouble. He even had a hearing but didn't need Britney or Mikayla to go there.

I dialled Britney's number after taking it from her friends who were debating for at least ten minutes before finally giving me. She picked up after two rings.

"Who's this?" Came Britney's disturbed voice.

"Hey, Britney it's Abby, we were supposed to finish the Biology project today," I said hoping she would just agree to it.

"Yeah, yeah, can you come over to my house? I will give the address," she said.

"Great, I will be there at four then?"

I heard a small whatever before the phone hung up. A second later, my phone beeped with a text from Britney.

School was hectic with teachers grading and passing on our test papers. By the end of the day, the teachers were also worn out with the day's outcome but the thought of weekend was pleasing. The Thanksgiving holiday was also nearing.

I found a small note in my locker from William which stated he had something planned.

I thought of going home and get my car since Britney lived a little on the far side but knew wouldn't make it to Britney's house since I will stop by with William and check out what he was doing.

Thinking of him, I pressed down on the red stone thrice. The beep came almost instantaneously. I hoped we could finish the project soon so that I can go back home to William soon.

Only if I knew what was there waiting for me, I would have waited a little longer.
