The screen glitched for some time before Benjamin rewind and fast forwarded it.

The video showed the highway from above a lamp post, black and white vision depicting the scene. My heart was erratically beating as the seconds passed but nothing came into view. There were trucks and few vehicles passing but nothing out of ordinary.

"Time?"

"Before midnight," I meekly responded.

Benjamin nodded before rewinding the clip and playing the evening. The clip fast forwarded to hours passing by as sunset fell and night came. The clip continued when suddenly Benjamin stopped.

"You see that?" He said pointing to the corner of the monitor. There was the head of a car with the nameplate in view.

"The name plate matches with one of the ones in the file, is it your parents'?"

"No," I said inspecting it with a closer view.

"It must be the other car then," he said nodding.

My breath hitched. It was time to see. I tried so hard to keep the tears in shore but they flowed down crashing against the rims.

Benjamin let out a deep breath before playing the player but didn't push the fast forward button.

A SUV was speeding down the road but in the right lane. That must be William's. Suddenly from the opposite side a Mustang, my parents’ car, came into view which swerved and swirled out of control. What the?

The Mustang roared defiantly and marched in the wrong lane as it raced. What were they doing? My heart was beating out of my chest cavity as I saw the scene unravel in front of me. Both the cars continued their race.

A loud blaring horn broke through before the SUV skidded to a quick halt but the Mustang didn't stop. It drove straight into the SUV. William blew out of his windshield and was roughly thrown the road, blood splattering at the blow.

His car toppled over for the crash and blew up right there, pushing off the Mustang and William from there. William fell a good distance from his car, while the Mustang with my parents was squashed to the ground.

Moments passed. None of them moved.

It was after a while, William moved a bit and saw the scene himself. He struggled to move in his own pool of blood but managed to take his phone which seemed to be broken. He spoke into the device before it fell from his bloodied hands. I saw another movement and saw my mom wailing from her seat but unable to get out. My dad wasn't moving at all.

William crawled a bit towards their car but dropped back to his staggering form. It wasn't long before my parents' car blew up right in front of him as they all flew from the impact.

I dropped before the screen, shock repelling my insides, causing a shudder to run through. I could feel my blood run cold, and breaths getting ragged by the passing seconds.

Why?

"Abby, take deep breaths," Benjamin spoke in a worried voice shaking me.

"Why were they spiralling out of control?" I asked him.

"Maybe they had a malfunction-"

"There you are," Uncle spoke from behind as I looked at him through my blurry sight standing at the gate.

"I was calling you and trying to find you-...what is that video?"

I cut his conversation with Benjamin when I noticed a file tucked under his arms. The file was labelled as 'San Antonio Hospital Foundation'. He must have gotten hold of the results. That's where he was.

I broke from my position and snatched the file from Uncle's grasp.

"Abby, don't-"

I scurried through the pages, and ended at the last page. I read the line. Over and over again.

The file fell from my hold as the papers scattered on the floor. I looked in the distant, feeling numb.

My stupid suspicion was true. My stupid self was right.

William didn't kill my parents.

My parents were drunk that night.
