"Where have you been?" William asked.

He knew.

"Just tell me-"

"Where did you find about him?" He asked stupefied.

"I went to Britney's house to do our project-"

"Britney was your partner," he said sighing with his closed eyes as if he should have guessed it.

"I-I stumbled on a room and saw you there. What were you doing there?"

"I-I wasn't there."

"Then why does Xander look like you?" I asked, just wanting him to clear my confusion. The headache seemed to get stronger as I got baffled by the passing second.

"Rose, I-I have not been honest with you,” William spoke, sighing and falling beside me.

"What do you mean?"

The deafening sound of thunder broke through the clouds as I continued staring at William intently.

"I'm not dead," he said looking at me straight in the eye.

The rain was getting heavier as fat drops ricocheted off the ground. I waited for him to say 'I'm your Imagination' or 'I'm not real' or even-

This is a joke.

I wouldn't be mad at him. But he didn't say anything. He just stared at me. The silence was getting unbearable so I broke it,

"Who a-are you?" I asked choking on the words.

"I am Xander William Benmonte."

William. It was his middle name.

"Why didn't you ever tell me? Why keep me in the dark!" I cried out backing away from him.

Why would he not tell me? How could he say he was spirit?

"Please, I wanted to-I tried but I couldn't tell you who I was, I'm not very proud," he said defeated.

"Why are you saying that? Will, your house is full of medals and trophies and pictures-"

"They don't say what I did!" He cried out cutting me off. My eyes widened at his outburst.

"I may have been the golden boy and so all, but I did something that can never be forgiven."

My shoulders slumped at his words seeing him sobbing for doing something he regretted so much. He was shaking extensively as I walked over and hugged him tightly.

"Please, stop-"

"No! Don't stop me Rose, I need to tell you this. I-I can't escape this anymore, and if-if you don’t want to see me again, I get it. I wouldn't want to be with someone like me either."

I stared at him bewildered. What did he do?

"William, why are you saying like that?"

"Rose, the night I was in a car accident, I-" he gulped heavily and stared at me with a guilty look before saying,

"I killed two people."
