"Yeah, I will be out in a minute," I spoke on the phone with Britney.I sighed looking at the mess in my room. It had been three days since the party which ended in everyone rushing William to the hospital. We returned back home but I had called Britney to ask about him since I couldn't go with them.
He had respiratory issues but other than that the doctors confirmed he was fine but advised against pressuring him to remembering everything all at once.
No one knew it was me who had caused him to have a panic attack. I feared Britney would kill me if she knew but after talking with her on the phone I knew William didn't tell her anything.
I huffed out closing my eyes. Today was the prom day. The day I had been dreading the most. Britney and I had an appointment to the parlour to get our hair done and Britney was already there where she and Mikayla were waiting for me.
It was so pleasing to think they could resolve the issues between them with Britney and Mikayla forgiving each other for all the problems they had been through and agreed on becoming friends again.
I looked around my room. The letter with numerous scotch tapes to hold up the tattered pages of what was the ruins of the letter William wrote for me when he left, laid on the nightstand. The guitar with a few strings torn and the file I made over the course of these three days also accompanied it.
I had written all mine and William's memories down as precisely as possible. Most words were smeared down by the amount of tears shed when I wrote it.
It was my final go. Final plan to make William remember me. Collecting all the stuffs in my school bag and putting on my ring, I made my way over to my car.
Aristotle came around my leg and whimpered to get some attention.
"Hey buddy, what happened?" I asked. Trixie was grooming herself, preparing for sleep. Aristotle just rose up and licked me. He had gotten big enough, not the little puppy I rescued.
"You also miss William, don't you?"
His ears perked up hearing William's name as he sniffed around. I thought of something.
Maybe he can also help me.

I drove around the mansion, successfully sneaking in without anyone seeing me. It was still mesmerising to see the mansion that stood with all its glory but I pushed myself quickly to make my way to the third floor.
The guitar did a great job in hiding my shaking self as I made my way up. A cook was walking around and frowned when she saw me and Aristotle while I smiled at her nervously. She went away not caring at all.
I sighed with my eyes closed. My phone was blowing up with calls from Britney and Mikayla who would probably murder me when they see me.
I made my way over to William's room which was promptly closed. With a small knock, I let myself in and turned to Aristotle.
"That's it, buddy. You know what to do next," I said placing a small kiss. Aristotle was very smart for a dog and sometimes it felt he knew exactly what we said.
I walked in with slow, steady steps to face a sleeping William. He had a small tube connected to his wrist that supplied him with saline.
My heart broke knowing I was the reason he had a panic attack. With a new found determination, I placed the guitar beside the nightstand and emptied the contents of my bag on it.
Aristotle was already wagging his tail and preparing to jump on him when I turned around.
"Not now buddy, after I leave okay?" I said scratching his head before making my way out.
I looked at William for the last time. It was the only chance. I couldn't help but let a tear drop knowing maybe I had to forget him.
What if he never remembered?
He would be joining University soon and then I would become the least significant person in his life. I broke out of the thought and made my way out.
I could only hope for the best.

I continued staring at the ring, expecting a beep.
"Oh wow, Abby you look gorgeous!" Mikayla gushed seeing me. I blushed but nevertheless turned around to see them.
"Look at you, Jaxon won't be able to stop after seeing you," I chuckled as I took in Mikayla who wore a blood red mermaid gown that had a beautiful trail.
Britney came around and she also looked absolutely stunning in her champagne ball gown that was completed with a small crown on her head.
She was elected as the Prom Queen. No surprise.
"So, let's get going then?" Britney asked.
"Yep, let's go," we both said in unison.
Jaxon was speechless seeing Mikayla. He couldn't help his mouth, which hung low and we all laughed out seeing him.
The gym room was transformed to a whole new dimension with heavenly decorations that made it all feel so real. High school was actually over. We took plethora of pictures all around the school with every weird poses we knew.
I looked around as others met with their friends, Britney going over to her usual gang and Mikayla and Jaxon giggling at each other. Such lovebirds. I couldn't help imagine how fun it would have been if I could come with William.
"Abby, you look beautiful," I turned around to face Nick. He was one of my very few friends. Nick was initially Jaxon's friend from the football team and would sometimes hang out with us in the cafeteria which led us to know each other.
"You look good as well," I said. He was dressed in a slim fitted tux with a small bow that resembled a skull.
"Thanks, who you're here with?"
"Umm, with Britney and others," I said laughing out at myself thinking about how others would think I'm a loser for not scoring a date to prom. But I couldn't help but reject others. It felt like I was betraying William.
"I came with Veronica but I don't know where she went," he said sighing. Veronica was one of the cheerleaders but was actually very sweet and not like others in her group.
We both chatted for a while, getting some soda to drink and later joined others on the dancefloor. Everything was going fine until I remembered him.
"Abby, you okay?" Mikayla asked as we all took a break from dancing.
"Yeah, I'm-"
"There you are," we all turned around to the source of the voice to face Miss Alyssa beaming at us.
"Hey, miss Alyssa," I said smiling at her.
She hugged me and as we parted she spoke, "Come on star, it's your time to shine."
I tried to smile but failed. I didn't know what to sing. As they all cheered me on, I couldn't feel anything. I couldn't feel my heart.
William.
I just missed him so much.
