The boys stayed in the room for the whole evening, talking about what they did over their break and their thoughts about the assessment. When the sun had completely set, and the dull yellow lights came on in the room, the visitors began to say goodbye.

"I'll be there tomorrow." Wei Ying assured his friends as they walked out of the door with the now empty bag. Wei Ying was very hungry.

"I think you two should have a talk about the training to fill him in on what we haven't discussed already. I am glad you are recovered Wuxian. Good evening."

"Bye."

Wei Ying waved as Xichen left and shut the door carefully behind him so only the softest click echoed. Wei Ying turned to Lan Zhan, who hadn't spoken much the whole afternoon, and saw the traces of concern on his face.

"I'm fine. See." he said and pulled up Lan Zhan's hand to his forehead. "Fully recovered."

"Fully?" Wangji countered.

"Yes."

"Have you tried walking yet?"

"No... Let's give it a go."

He pulled of his covers and found he was only wearing some knee length shorts and socks. He figured Doctor Wen had to monitor his ribs so a shirt would get in the way. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and his toes brushed the cold floor.

"Need a hand?" asked Lan Zhan.

"Yeah."

Lan Zhan stood up and hooked an arm around Wei Ying's back before pulling him up and steadying him on his feet. It took a moment for Wei Ying to gain his balance and Lan Zhan slowly moved his arm away. Wei Ying took in a deep breath before tentatively taking a step forwards with his injured leg. He leaned forwards and placed his sole flat on the floor, but his leg seemed weak and it gave way. Luckily, Lan Zhan caught him before he fell to far and helped steady him once more.

"This has to stop happening." Wei Ying said with a grin and Lan Zhan shook his head in amusement.

"Again?"

"Yeah."

Wei Ying once more put pressure on his leg and stood still for a second for it to regain strength. Once he was confident he wasn't going to fall down he took another step forwards. Then another. Then another. He managed to walk around the whole room without falling.

"Okay. That's enough. I don't want to do any damage."

Lan Zhan helped Wei Ying back to the bed and then sat down on the chair once more. He handed over the cup of coffee Nei Huaisang got him and waited for the younger to be satisfied before speaking.

"I was worried."

"You were worried?"

"I could see that you were in pain. You managed to convince Xichen that you were okay but you didn't fool me."

"Oh."

"You were alright in the agility course, then your concussion hit hard as the targets moved in the next stage, your arm began to hurt as you were diffusing the bomb, your leg seized up on the rope- that's why you took off the holster- and then everything got worse in the chamber."

"Nothing gets past you, does it Lan Zhan." he said and closed his eyes as he leaned against the pillows.

"You should have stopped if you were in pain."

"But I would have hated myself for giving up." Wei Ying countered. "And I'm okay now. All I needed was a rest, a long rest."

"Hm."
