Chapter Ten: The Principal
Mare's POV
"So, what are you doing after lunch?" Our friend, Sakura Hall, asked us as she came running towards us and put her arms around our shoulders.
Yes, us. I and Mayra were together walking down the school's hallway and Sakura barged in completely to us, evading our silence and privacy
"Oh, come on, guys! Talk! It's not like we're not friends at all!" Sakura exclaimed.
Sakura Hill, half-Japanese, half-American with a little bit of blood of Filipino because one of her grandparents on her maternal side is Filipino. Bubbly and noisy.
"Are we?" I asked emotionlessly.
"Don't joke like that, Mare. It's not funny!" Mayra shouted at me making me roll my eyes.
Girls are girls. They're boring to talk to and always making fun of you. Girly stuff is being the one talking about in all conversations even if you are a boy in their group.
"So, how about we take lunch and then review some of our textbooks for the next class?" Mayra suggested.
I looked at her and eyed her curiously. "You're weird today."
"Well, I just want to read some books in the library so I think we should go and read some of our textbooks, Kuya."
Yes, Mayra is mature at school and childish at the house. She was like a person with two personalities, as I have read in some novels or movies.
We walked into the canteen and eat and after we finished, we walked to the library.
"Woah! May-May, chill! That's a lot of books!" Sakura chuckled. "Can you read all of that within the time?"
"Mare loves reading mysteries thanks to our Dad probably, he inherited the most boring personality," Mayra replied as I took one book from the piles. I glared at her. "But he's a nice brother."
"Is he a nice guy?" Sakura asked and turned to face me. "Are you?"
"Not probably but maybe for some other people, yes," I answered as I flipped the pages of the Criminology book.
Yes. We are just kids but we go to a university library. Ferris University is a complete package. From Kindergarten to College with the complete set of courses ranging from medical sections, engineering courses, and others, whether it's for practicality use or your dream course.
"Hmm... Interesting. Maybe I think you should be nice to others, Mare. You're cold, especially to girls."
I glanced at her. "Do you think I would possibly have an interest in such things?"
"Nope."
"Then, don't ask me that ever again," I replied and read the book.
Mayra's POV
I rolled my eyes. Mare Sherrinford Throver is an introverted one, especially to girls. He's not interested in them. I don't see him blushing whenever we see pretty girls in our school. He just stared at them like they were just there. He's unusual compared to other boys in our school.
"Don't think that you have a plan in your mind for me to be close to girls, Mayra," he said. I'm not shocked that he could read what I think. Twin telepathy. "I would not do that even if you want to."
