Peace.

His body language expressed only one thing.

He didn't led go of his hold on me. It was as if I was his treasure, a priceless entity that he wanted to hide away from the cruel world, and in that moment if he asked maybe I would've complied too.

Ah, screw these hormones.

"What do you mean by....yours?"

For the first time I was regretting the lack of interest in the romance movies that Angela binge watched.

The word mine had always sounded simple, yet from his mouth it became something more.

More possessive.

More demanding.

He wasn't asking me to be his, he was telling me I'm his.

Worst part?

I didn't mind.

"That means your heart, body and soul are mine."

Maybe it was the demanding tone he spoke in.

Or how he whispered it in my ears.

Or maybe it was simply because it was him who was speaking.

Fire scorched through my cheeks and they take on a color they had never before, a dark red.

His hands now settle on my waist, as he leans back slightly, taking in my reddened face. And then he laughs.

A geniune carefree laugh. No sorrow, nor pain hidden behind them, seemingly amused if not satisfied by the face I was making.

This was the real him, the one who who was suppressed behind the layers of sorrow, grief and caution.

This expression was my doing, I made him feel carefree, unrestricted, free from his chains of past. The realization made my heart swell.

Not wanting him to get the upper hand, my hands went around his neck, slowly I pull him down to my level before whispering in his ears.

"And what do I get out of it?"

He almost reels back in shock before composing himself again, smirking devilishly he bring down one of my hand to his lips.

Seductively, he lays a gentle kiss on my palm before he speaks.

"Me."

Well, that backfired nicely.

My face grows impossibly redder as I dig my face into his shirt, trying to regain some of my self respect, quite futilely might I add.

He just chuckles and wraps his hands around me closer. We stay there. Greedily sucking up each other's warmth, none of us making a move to leave.
