⚜️ Lately I've been in the backseat to my own life...⚜️

Aching.

My head was aching, my body sore as fuck. The comfortable covers engulfed my sorry form as I wrapped myself further into the sanctuary.

Suddenly everything came rushing back to me. Romanov. Levi.

My eyes shot open, bearing the brunt of the bright lights. Panicked, I searched the unfamiliar room for that familiar face.

Levi. Where are you?

I hurried out of the bed only to gasp at the burning sensation at my hips. It hurt. Raising the t-shirt at my right I observed the purplish bruise.

Atleast it looked worse than it hurt.

Suddenly, the door burst open making me freeze involuntarily, my body tense.

"Oh thank goodness you're alright."

The familiar voice made me sigh in relief, my body sagging onto the bed.

A worried Aurora made her way infront of me in a rush.

"Careful there, you got one dirty ass bruise on your side."

She warns. A little late for the warning but a warmth made its way chest. It felt good to be cared for.

The little distraction didn't last long.

"Where's Levi?"

My hand clutches her in desperation, the panic in my eyes didn't go unnoticed.

Her eyes soften as she wraps her hands around me. But I didn't need comfort now. I needed answers.

Before I could open my mouth she cut me off.

"We don't know his whereabouts yet. A car left with him and Romanov and they threw you right outside the hotel. They knew someone would be there to pick you up."

The dizziness suddenly dissapears, as the news registers in my head.

They took him. But left me?

That really didn't make sense. Having a second captive wouldn't prove to be a loss in anyway so why.

Aurora comfortingly placed a hand on my back, rubbing up on and down. For a few minutes I remained immobile.

An unfamiliar feeling burned within me, it flowed through my veins all the way into my chest.

Fear.

Such a frightening emotion.

Never. Never had it been present so blatantly.

There was no fear when I was all alone in the world at the age of 5.

There was no fear when I stood in front of a dead body at the age of 12.

There was no fear when Levi left. Sadness? Yes. But not fear. For I knew he would be back.

But now, the terrifying feeling gripped my being. There was no escaping it.

Levi was with them. With him.

There was no saying what was to happen. No saying that last night wouldn't be the last time we meet. Last time he touched would touch me.

And that was haunting.

Reality always was.

Another figure burst through the door and a disheveled Ace ran inside in panic.
