Melike had not even thought of warning Osman Bey, when he had already come face to face with Balgay's men. Cerkutay and his men had escorted him into the Inn to speak with the Mongol Commander, whilst Boran, Konur, Samsa Cavus and the rest of the Alps remained outside, guarded and watched by the leering and rather irritating Mongols, their spears pointing to the Alps' chests. It had been about half an hour, and Samsa Cavus decided to test the Mongol Soldiers out. "Stop staring at us like gossipy women, get us some water, we're tired of beating you up," he ordered the nearest soldier. "You can lick the mud off my boot, Turk! Perhaps that will quench your thirst," he snarled. Samsa glared at him, and said, "We'll see if you can talk like this when my sword is dancing in your heart." The Mongol said no more. "What the hell is going on in there, Bamsi Bey? What's taking Osman Bey so long?" "Patience, Son, patience," said Bamsi, patting Boran's chest. "Osman Bey will get us and the Kayi Tribe out of this mess, make no mistake." "Inshaallah," said Abdurrahman Gazi.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of horses' hooves coming from the entrance of Sogut's town square. They turned around and saw in horror, as Dundar and Gunduz were being dragged in chains by the blonde Mongol Commander that attacked the Kayi Tribe. Gunduz and Dundar had rope around their necks like nooses, as the commander dragged them- every now and then they would trip and fall, and be forced back up again. Boran, Konur and Bamsi Bey gasped out in horror to see them, and cried out for the two unfortunate Beys. "GUNDUZ BEY! DUNDAR BEY!" Gunduz saw them and looked as winced, before nearly being pulled down along with his uncle when Dundar fell to the ground. He helped him up again, and the Mongol Commander continued to drag them mercilessly, without once looking back to see if they had survived.
"What are they doing with them?" gasped Bamsi Bey in horror. "Their leader must want to see them," said Abdurrahman Gazi, grimacing. "Maybe to use them against Osman Bey- or worse." Suddenly, Dundar toppled to the ground again, falling face-first into the mud. "Emmi!" exclaimed Gunduz as their Mongol Commander stopped his horse. "Dundar Bey! My Gunduz!" gasped Bamsi. "Let them go, you bastards!" The Alps tried to break free from the Mongol's surrounding them but the soldiers still had their spears up, preventing them. Bamsi grabbed onto one of the spears for support as he nearly tripped trying to pass the Mongols. "Bamsi Bey, where is Osman?" asked Dundar as he stood up with Gunduz's help. "How is my little brother, Bamsi Bey?" added Gunduz. "He's good, he's speaking with Balgay. Apparently Balgay wants something," explained Bamsi. The blonde Mongol Commander sneered at them when he heard Osman's name, as if it stung his ears.
"Gunduz, how is the tribe?" asked Bamsi, his expression worried. "Is it safe? Was it attacked?" "The tribe's still standing. But we have lost our honour, and our reputation," said Gunduz, trying to loosen the noose around his neck. Bamsi and Abdurrahman looked at each other. "I don't know how we will live with this Bamsi B-ahhhh," he choked as the blonde Mongol tugged on his ropes, and said, "Shut up and walk." Boran glared at them as he watched them being dragged by the barbaric heathens. "Soysuzlar," he hissed under his breath. "Don't worry, Dundar Bey! Gunduz Bey! We'll come for you, we promise!" he called out to them amidst the others. They did not even get to smile weakly at the Alps when the Mongol Commander tugged on them harder, nearly tripping the two over again. Boran growled as the Mongols leered at him, Konur grabbing his shoulder. "Konur, Melike was at the tribe," said Boran worriedly. "If that Commander attacked-" "Don't worry, Brother, she will be alright," he reassured him. "She's strong. She could take him on even if he tried fighting her one-on-one. And we will save Dundar Bey and Gunduz Bey." Boran grimaced and patted Konur's hand.
The blonde Mongol left Gunduz and Dundar with his men as he said, "They are to wait here," before going into the inn. He entered the inn to see Osman and Commander Balgay talking. Commander Balgay grinned at him with horrible yellow teeth as he came in. "Kongar..." he said in his deep, hoarse voice. He was sitting cross-legged on the table, leering at Osman. He was short, and his hair was dirty, grey and grizzly, as if it had never been brushed before. His beard was unkempt and messy, and his dark brown eyes were similar to Cerkutay's, slanted yet rather bulging, very different from Kongar's big blue eyes. Kongar lowered his head in respect and said, "Commander Balgay, the fires of the tribes have been lit. Everyone's felt your divine power." He looked at Osman, as Osman glared back at him, his insides boiling with anger as he heard about the tribes' fates.
