Early the next morning, Melike joined Bala, Sumeyye, Selcan and Gonca in interrogating Zohre and Aygul whilst Osman Bey and Gunduz Bey were holding a council meeting deciding the next Bey. "We must make sure they tell us everything," said Selcan to the girls seriously. "Zohre Hatun has done some incredibly shady things, some that I know of and some that I don't. We must find out in order to understand the current situations." Melike and the others nodded. "Melike, kizim, you come with me first. The rest of you, go and inform the Beys of what we are doing," Selcan ordered and entered the tent with Melike whilst the others left to inform the Beys. Melike never had any real issues with Aygul Hatun or Zohre Hatun in the past, until she found out from Selcan about Zohre's evildoings and what her schemes have brought upon the tribe....and poor Bala. As for Aygul, she, Melike and Sumeyye were once good friends along with Burcin Hatun, until Bala came along and Melike and Sumeyye took Bala's side whenever there was a tiff between Osman's two lovers, only one of which he returned feelings for. Unbeknownst to both Sumeyye and Melike, Aygul felt hurt by their action of taking Bala's side and spending more time with her, and hated Bala for it. She and Zohre glared at Selcan and Melike from where they were tied to two beams as the two women came into the tent, and Zohre spat at Selcan's feet.
"Go! Go away, you evil snake, go!" she screamed. "I smell blood whenever I see you, leave, now!" Selcan scoffed in her face and said, "It must be the blood that you have shed yourself, Zohre." "Enough!" Aygul snapped at her aunt. "Enough of your injustice!" Melike scoffed and turned to Zohre. "Look at what your daughter is saying. She wants enough," she said in a dangerous voice. "So enough of your lies and hypocrisy. Tell your daughter the truth." Aygul raised an eyebrow at Melike, evidently confused. "What hypocrisy?" she asked but before Melike could answer, Selcan opened her mouth to speak, though she was looking at Zohre . "First Bala was your victim, then Gunduz...who's next, hmm?" growled Selcan. "You ate your brains with your bread! You just want power!" spat Zohre. "Take the Beylic and the tribe, but I will take my son and Dundar's revenge-" "Oh really, Zohre?" asked Bala as she came into the tent like a strong breeze, along with Sumeyye and Gonca. Aygul threw daggers at her with her eyes as she came in, and longed to break free from her chains to strangle her. "Are you going to ask help from the Mongols?" Bala continued, not looking at Aygul but instead at Zohre, and as quick as lightning Aygul's anger for Bala whipped around and turned into confusion.
Immediately Zohre's face fell and she looked terrified. Aygul tried to turn the situation around by hissing, "My father brought order to Osman's troubles. Now he and my brother are gone, do you want to take my mother too, for a crime she did not commit?" Sumeyye scoffed; "Don't try and change the topic or interrupt, Aygul," she snapped. "Just listen and you'll know the real truth." "Shut up!" screamed Aygul. She turned to Bala. "Good for you now, huh? You can get your slutty claws into Osman, and kill me and my mother. The field will be yours." She spat at Bala before saying, "Shame on you." Melike started and was about to put her dagger to Aygul's throat when Gonca held her back. "As one's heart gets darker, her anger and rudeness becomes more brutal!" she growled at Aygul, Gonca barely able to hold her back. "If I was allowed, I would slice your throat this instant for your audacity to be this...uncivilized." Bala smiled at Melike before turning to Aygul herself. "Your words are ugly, Aygul Hatun," she sneered. "I wish you could hear those words said to yourself." Aygul's jaw clenched at their words and she longed to break free to attack them with only her fingernails.
"Ah..." said Selcan as she watched the drama between the young women, and turned back to Zohre. "I'll cut it straight to the point. If you want to do your duty as a mother and be by her son at his funeral...that is what you want, right?" Zohre went pale; what was Selcan going on about? "Of course I want that! How could you ask such a thing, I will be there!" she whimpered, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks as she began to wail again. Melike and Sumeyye looked at each other, feeling rather disgusted at her sudden change in character. "First she tries to be intimidating and gets her daughter to say obscene things, and then she breaks down and cries and wails," hissed Sumeyye in a tone only Melike could hear. Melike shrugged in response as Selcan began to speak again. "Good. But if you want to attend his funeral...you will have to speak, and tell the truth," she threatened. "We know of your involvement in these matters, but we need to know more. Tell us, and you may go." Aygul stared at Selcan; what did her mother do that was so wrong and so threatening that Selcan would threaten her with such a thing?
