I offer him a fake smile. "All the more reason to do so, then. Come on boys, where's the ghost?"

This makes Jimin giggle and Taehyung mumble to himself, mouth wide open: "I love this girl."

My boss's eyes on the other hand have become a whole thunderstorm of anger, and his voice has never been deeper. "Fine."

I will regret my words for sure later on when it's just the two of us, but at least for now in front of Tae and Jimin, I'm safe.

The former hurriedly comes forward to unlock his door and explains the situation to us at the same time. "Weird, howling noises have been coming from my closet this entire evening, and I haven't been able to sleep or even just relax because of that. I was so terrified I didn't dare open the closet on my own to check."

"Well," Jungkook suggests, feigning interest, "How about we let Rose check first? Since she's feeling particularly brave tonight."

This immediately earns him a glare from my part, which he gladly reciprocates.

"I'm the youngest here," I argue. "Wouldn't it be irresponsible of you to send me in first?"

My boss just scoffs at that. "Usually you hate it when I mention your age, and suddenly you want to use it as an argument? You know what that's called, Rose-ah?"

"What?", I retort provocatively, his words making boil with anger deep inside.

He leans forwards, angry black gaze meeting mine. "Hypocrisy."

Oh, that prick.

Next to us, Jimin and Taehyung exchange panicked glances, not having expected this.

"My lovely friends," Jimin chuckles nervously. "We came here to attack a ghost, not each other, hmm?"

"Exactly," Taehyung quickly adds while he pushes all of us inside his hotel room. "How about we just all open the closet at the same time? So it's fair."

I agree while Jungkook just mumbles something under his breath, and we all stare at the simple, brown closet in front of us. The elegant hotel we're staying at is one of the older, more traditional kind, and so while furniture inside the rooms might be beautiful, it's not the most modern one.

"I've got to say," Jungkook mumbles. "This ghost's got good taste, staying in an expensive-ass hotel like that."

"Jungkook!", Jimin hisses. "You shouldn't swear, especially not in front of Rose. You're her boss, you should set a good example."

The corners of my mouth curl up at that, and I offer my boss a sufficient smile. "Yes, exactly, oppa. Please don't shock me with your vulgar choice of words."

Jungkook just rolls his eyes at that. "She's not five years old, hyung. I think it's a little bit too late for me to set a good example for her."

Well, he's not wrong. If Jimin heard how much I swear around Eun sometimes, he'd have a heart attack. Either way, I've recently turned nineteen years old, but I'm pretty certain that for Jimin, I will always be that lost, foreign child from middle school.

Before Jimin can argue back, Taehyung interrupts us by only reacting to specific parts of our conversation, which is typical for him. "Maybe the ghost was rich in his previous life. That's why it prefers to stay in luxurious hotels now."

"Tae oppa, maybe we shouldn't talk about the ghost while it's literally present amongst us," I suggest. "Kind of rude."

"Smart insight, Rosie." His eyes widen, and he immediately nods at my words, making Jungkook snort.
